I'm going to save my weigh ins for my dr's scale. Mine has always read 5-10 lbs less than theirs but never a consistant number so I can't just add 6 or something. I'm going to see if I can go into my clinic once a week and just weigh in.

If I was going by my scale, this morning it said 197....but since last Thurs. doc said 206, I'm not buying. It's moving....that's all that matters right now.

Great Loss so far Danna! Wow!

I agree, I'm only using my Dr's scales as my show about 2kg (4.5 lbs) less than his, so yesterday was my post op check-up and my appt to decide if I need a fill is Jan 9 - so will get weighed again then.

Like you, so long as it is moving in the right direction is all that matters.

My starting point was 125kg (275lb) on November 27. After 10 days of pre-op and 4 days post-surgery, I'm at 120.2kg (261lb), so have lost 14lb in 14 days... whoohoo!

I was banded on Dec. 4th which was 9 days ago. I started at 279lbs. my scale at home says 264lbs. That would be 15 pounds however I think my scale at home may be about 3 or 4 pounds lighter then the docs. I am going tomorrow for my post op follow up and will get a true reading then. But I am still amazed with the results thus far. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
