How do you turn a Protein Drink into a frozen dessert? I tried pouring one into a plastic container and freezing it but it just froze hard and not what I would call a dessert.

That depends...which stage are you in?

OK, it looks like I got a variety of answers here, so here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to compile everything I've got and make a document out of it. When it's done, I post it here. Thank you for your responses and cooperation!

I totally need a baked donut recipe please and thank you ❤️
(Allergies: shellfish, food style: kosher/vegan)

That's easy! Even my non-bariatric friends love this recipe. Enjoy!

2.25 cups of almond flour

.5 cups of sweetener of choice (I use Monk Fruit sweetener)

1 tsp of baking soda

4 eggs (you're vegan, so I'd recommend Bob's Red Mill Egg Replacer...I've used it before and it's amazing)

1 tsp of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

.25 cups of milk substitute

Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a 12-count donut pan and set aside. Mix the ingredients together and pour into a plastic ziplock bag. Cut one corner of the bag and squeeze out batter into the donut pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove and let cool before transferring to cooling racks.

Frosting:

There's actually a couple of things you can do here, depending on what kind of donuts you like. Are you a glazed donut person? Frosting? Jelly? Cinnamon sugar or powdered? I like using the standard recipe for Cool Whip frosting made with sugar free Cool Whip and sugar free pudding mix. But... I just realized that's neither Kosher or vegan. Let me know. :)

I'm pre-surgery, planning ahead. If you have different recipes for each stage I'm interested in all.

I am Indian so I keep craving for something spicy and crunchy. Anything on that front?

I keep adding Indian taste to my food so I am sure down the road I'll have my share of recipes too.

I am overwhelmed by all the information and would most definitely benefit from your sharing. I am scheduled for Feb. 24th and am worried I won’t have enough options to keep me from caving in.

Hey everyone! Oh geez, I feel just awful. I posted this topic and never responded. I hate using the excuse "life happened," but it did.

I seem to be having difficulty uploading the document for whatever reason, so if you're interested in recipes, kindly send me a private message asking what you're looking for and I'll see if I can find anything to help.

Take care everyone who responded!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
