Had my RYN yesterday, and found out it was done by a robot! Thats so incredible. My pain is tolerable, im on ice chips cause my throat and mouth dries. But i did have shortness of breath, had a chest x ray and have Fluid that developed while being down with anesthia. Dr ordered albuterol treatment and received my treatment around 2am and feel better. I have my leak test later today, toradol is amazing and peeing alot. I havent passed gas, get winded walking in my room. I hope i can go home today. I hope this helps you guys, as insight with your upcoming procedure.

Congratulations, you have done amazing. I dont know what to think about robotic surgeons. Its a bit like driverless trains and pilotless airplanes. If I were having that procedure, I dont want to know until after the event. Keep walking and everything will improve.

Congratulations on your journey to a healthier life. I had terrible asthma due to my long surgery and anesthesia (6hrs). I had to go back to the ER after going home because it was getting worse and couldn’t use steroids (slows healing). Then the team was worried it was a blood clot. Eventually the WL team realized it truly was asthma due to anesthesia and gave me a shot of Vitamin A and a half dose shot of steroids. If you still have a harder time breathing, say something while still in the hospital. Ask about Vitamin A. Truly best wishes to you on your journey!

Robotic surgery is NOT like driver-less trains or pilot-less airplanes. The surgeon sits at a table, looks into a 3D monitor and actually manipulates the arms of the robot. Your surgeon is able to get a magnified 3-D view with high-definition while operating from a comfortably seated position. Your surgeon can operate precisely with these advantages:

  • Improved dexterity
  • Wider range of motion
  • Enhanced visualization including areas that are not visible by the naked eye
  • Improved access to otherwise almost inaccessible areas
  • Improved outcomes, sparing healthy tissue

Hi all I’m a newbie! I’ll be 3 days post op as of tomorrow from gastric sleeve surgery. I came home from the hospital after an overnight stay yesterday afternoon. Anyway I have a couple of questions.

Has anyone have difficulty sleeping? I only sleep an hour here and there. It’s because I’m afraid of getting dehydrated if I’m not drinking enough fluids.

I have wicked dry mouth since my surgery. When I talk it feels like I have a mouth full of cotton and no one can understand me. Then I start coughing. Boy does that hurt my belly. Has anyone experienced that and what do you recommend?

I saw my PCP on the 5th, she said the dry mouth means youre dehydrated and thats dangerous. She said, to take constant sips of Water, to get rid of it. Im on top of that, so i feel less dry mouth. Pls becareful because if you dont hydrate youll have to go to the ER for fluids. Im tired of needles. Did you have to get an IV placed on each arm?

Thank you. I’m doing much better with keeping hydrated. Now I have canker sores in my mouth. Not sure I got those.I’ve had them since Friday morning which was my post op day 4. Today is post op day 6 and I still have the canker sores. Every time I have sips of any of my drinks including Water stings my mouth. I’m contacting my doctor in the AM. In addition I’m running into some issues with medications. I’m just so overwhelmed with everything.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
