I was sleeved on 12/22/21 and have felt off ever since. I only took the pain meds for two days. I am not in any pain and my incisions healed nicely but I have blurry vision and the worst brain fog. I am taking my multi- Vitamin, Calcium and Vit D. Had PCP check my levels and they were all within normal range. I am not dehydrated and am getting my Protein in. Surgeon referred me to my PCP. Anyone else dealing with this?

Hi all. Wanted to check in and see how folks are doing? I had my sleeve 12/9 and the weight loss is slowing already. Nutritionist says I’m right on track but it sure is hard not to see the scale moving. I’m tracking 100%, hitting my Protein and staying well within calories. It can’t stay stalled forever right?

also how the heck do you update current weight? I figured it out :)

Surgery 12/10. Stalled right now too.

Don’t fret! It’s normal . I had my surgery on 12/17 and lost 13.5 lbs the first week. I stalled at week 2,3,&4. In week 5 now and the scale is finally moving again.. thank the lord. the 3 week stall can be 3 weeks or less. It doesn’t necessarily start in the 3rd week after surgery, but it’s normal. Just stop weighing yourself b/c if your like me it will make you think you are the problem. It’s common and you will be on your way soon again.

Mine was on 12/14/21 I tell you I’m great down 30 lbs. ( was hoping for more) but I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do! This was the best decision I’ve ever made! I’m feeling great! I’m changing my life! No side affects, I’ve been blessed ! Sometime feel they didn’t do anything to me until I eat and now can’t consume much food then I remember! I’m still prob 80 lbs. to my goal but I know I can finely do this! This was not a easy way this was the rite way to take back my life that obesity has stollen from me !

Hi! I'm exactly 4 weeks post surgery and doing pretty good. The weight loss has slowed a bit but still making progress. It's been amazing seeing the weight come off and fitting into some of my old clothes again. I'm still in the puree'd stage for another week, so now starting to get creative with fish, meat, and anything else I can ask the wife to mash up. There haven't been any major setbacks except for a severe gout flare up that has been hampering my walking since week 2. I'm drinking upwards of 70 oz's of Water a day and still can't seem to shake the soreness and pain in my toe joint from the flare up. Other than that, it's full steam ahead!!

Glad to hear your success!

4 weeks out today VSG 12/22/21, and my Nutritionist started letting me eat real food ie soft real food Saturday and I had some chicken omg it was Heaven. Started the liquid diet before thanksgiving so it’s been awhile for me since I’ve eaten real food. My weight was 197 today so 30 pound total loss from liquid to today. The only thing I’m dealing with is I’m severely allergic to eggs now - big welts so Dr saw them said yep full blown allergy and my tummy hates Beans - all Beans I’ve tried them refried, hummus and I made pinto Beans with ham for the family - had them in the crockpot 12 hours ate a few chewed well and back up they came. So I hope this resolves because I eat a lot of beans pre the VSG. I totally forgot to eat most of the mid morning to about 4 today and only got in around 500 calories. Other than that I’m super excited about where I am at. I still feel tenderness if I over do things on my right side where they removed the stomach but that’s it! No brain fog or vision issues at all.  Glad to see you guys doing good and glad to finally be moving from the dreaded stall lol!

Also I was told by Nutritionist that if you can eat cheese and tolerate it you’re ready to move to solids. I saw somewhere someone was keeping themselves on liquids but eating cheese but check with your Dr or Nutritionist that’s just what mine told me.

Ok doesn’t look like anyones been here for a bit except me lol. I have a question - I’m down 30 pounds and 29.75 inches. Last week I finally broke a stall and went down 3 pounds. Weird thing is I actually should be down 37 inches but gained inches in my biceps and one thigh - weird I know I think it’s lump Fluid because I had the lump nodes removed from that groin as a teenager. I’m 4 weeks one day out. Has anyone else had similar changes in inches? Loosing and regaining? I’m thinking my arms may be muscle because I have been doing some arm weight exercises just 2 pounds. TIA

I’m twenty days “new” today. I had complications (there were two hours of removing former surgical adhesions and scar tissue). I was in the hospital for 10 days. I think they just liked me being there. I’m a super optimist so I tried to make light of things like horrible diarrhea. I was treated so well the whole time. I’m still nauseous and in pain but like my mom said.. “this too shall pass”. On the happy side.. I’ve lost 23 pounds. I have no idea about how many inches. I think I look the same. I think it’s all lost in my face. 😀😀

I got my surgery date for the sleeve for December 22, 2021 in Sebastian, Florida. Let's get through the pre stuff together.

Hi, I also had the gastric sleeve the exact same day I’m 17 years old and I hope we can help each other out, I’ve been struggling with picking what to eat.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
