Frazzled 8 Posted January 8, 2022 Had diarrhea at first but that is not an issu now. Taking stool softeners daily and even that doesn't always help. Thank God for Miralax. Diet is getting more normal. Eating baked chicken, chili, string cheese, toast with Peanut Butter, some sugar free pudding. Feeling a bit sore today but not in pain. I cant wait to have something other than liquids.... OMG..I had surgery on October 29, was in the hospital 10 days. I’m on Clear Liquids and Protein Shakes. Can’t wait to get to the next part! I had liquid diarrhea every few minutes the entire time. The first night back I non stopped puked and had forceful diarrhea from 9pm until 7 am the next day. I think they were 15 minutes between where I was ok. I was SO exhausted! It finally stopped and I was so exhausted. I still haven’t gotten sleep since December 28th. I’m SO tired. I had just moved to soft foods when I got sick and now can’t really eat. First 2 days did not eat or drink 1 thing. Now am slowly eating white fish but it’s just been such a long recovery for me I feel like I can’t catch a break

My incisions and stomach started hurting again when I had covid and still aren't great now. I don't end isolation for another few days. 1 Kris10_78 reacted to this

Oh gosh I don’t know what I would’ve done if I got it so soon after surgery! Thank goodness you are okay! I was pretty scared for a moment because I was practically bed bound I could not do much. Definitely cried to my doctor a few times lol

The fatigue has been really awful, I was sleeping for days! 1 ColetteZ reacted to this

hungrygiraffe 1 Posted January 10, 2022 Anyone who may have seen my previous posts would have heard that I had a really rough time for the first few weeks after surgery. A lot of pain and bruises from the incisions, a lot of difficulty with any kind of food (be it liquid, pure or softs) and various mental problems that come from such a monumental change in your life (no more using food as a comfort from life anymore!). Im now 4 weeks post-op, and happy to report that things have improved significantly. Im doing much better on pretty much every front and as a nice bonus, im down 17kg (37.5 pounds) since surgery day. Sending loads of love and positivity to everyone on here, especially those who may be struggling. Things DO get better. 😀 1 huskymama reacted to this
