I love reading this thread and seeing how well everyone is progressing. I had my surgery on November 9th and am now down 72lbs and feeling much better for it. I'm also learning to deal with the stalls and not panicking when they come. Hope everyone is doing well.

I am hitting 3 months post op. I am down 60 lbs and have been stalled for the last two weeks. I am not too concerned about it since I have read so much about it here. It is certainly a tad frustrating but I feel so much better after losing so much so fast that I can see so many benefits to encourage me. The biggest for me is no more CPAP at night.

As far as recovery: I can tolerate all fluids and I tolerated wine. I would say 90% of food sits just fine. I am avoiding high sugar and high fat foods obviously and I don’t really miss them. Fish and veggies are easiest for my system. I can swallow larger pieces of food now which is a huge improvement from the first month. Back then if I didn’t chew 30 times per bite I was headed for disaster. I still eat slowly.

I have found that when I go out to dinner I talk everyone into some appetizers and then I eat that during the appetizer course and in place of my meal. I space it out over a couple hours while everyone else enjoys the courses. It works for me and my friends don’t really notice since I am always eating. Who knew you could eat some chicken wings over an hour. But not buffalo. Spicy food is still a no go for me.

I have had foamies in the first month but not lately and I have still avoided dumping syndrome. I feel like it is going well and I am getting a lot of compliments. I am waiting to lose another 20 before I start investing in nicer clothes. I am looking forward to that. 3X is a bad memory. 2X I can no longer keep on. XL is getting looser.

So, we're in about the same boat. I'm down 83lbs in 3 months and 10 days. Still going in the right direction, even if slowing down. Hitting between 6500 and 9000 steps per day at this point ... that about an hour of walking daily after work. Mixing in band exercises while at the office and while walking. The diet is still fairly clean, especially during the work week.... though I did allow myself a piece of toast today. Only lost 1.8 lbs this week, but a loss is a loss. I had ...probably an unrealistic goal, to reach -100 by my March 17 doctor appointment. Looking like it will be closer to -90. Which of course is still fantastic!

Wearing clothes that I haven't been able to wear in a while. Need to break down and buy a couple pairs of salvation army pants soon... as it is I have to wear shorts under my pants to keep them up! Lol.

I'm thinking about starting some weight training soon. I know there are different camps on this idea but I want to counter some of the loose skin by building some tone. I'll likely see the scale slow even further but I need to realize that the redistribution of weight is there.

Looking forward to the next -17!

Hi everyone, just checking in. I hope you're all doing well. I am loving my new life, loving my sleeve, and not really experiencing any downsides. Am losing pretty much 2-3lbs a week over the last couple of months after a period of big losses at the start. As long as that keeps up I will be super happy. And it's amazing how it all adds up. Seems no time at all since we were all here with our knees knocking worrying about what life would be on the other side of a sleeve. Turns out it's pretty sweet. I hope you're all feeling good.

I am doing well. Had an over three week stall. It was getting a little frustrating that the scale stopped moving. Then one day I stepped on and I had lost 5.5 pounds overnight. I had to weigh again just to check that it wasn’t a mistake. I am back to losing again but not as quickly. Strangely I am having more problems with food these days. My system seems to be getting more picky. I hope everyone is doing well. I still have no regrets.

It's unbelievable how many of us have had the same experience. Glad your stall has ended. Your stats are so similar to mine - identical weight loss actually. Race you!

Anything spicy is off limits. I used to love the heat in Cajun seasoning and now that is an absolute no for me. My family makes home made salsa from what they grow in their garden. I can’t handle the peppers. Anything with sugar or grease. After I got back to work my Starbucks addiction restarted as I need the caffeine. I am basically limited to black coffee. Anything with flavoring does’t sit well. I am having a hard time with ground beef which I was fine with at the beginning. So I switched to a chicken burrito from beef at my favorite Mexican restaurant but I still ended up feeling bad when I got home. It was still greasy from the cheese I am guessing. I am not having any issues with things getting “stuck”, but if I have anything with sugar or grease I feel terrible in an hour which is strange because I could handle both in the months after surgery. Then my concern was chewing enough and eating slowly. Now I can eat as fast as I want and chew normally but I have to avoid a lot of things. The symptoms start with getting really hot and starting to sweat. Then a mild nausea kicks in. It passes in an hour but it is not a great feeling.

Could that be dumping syndrome? I mean the sweat, nausea, maybe heart racing?

Love hearing from my November Pals!!! i am doing well and have had little to no issues. I still struggle with taking 30 minutes to eat my little meals and not being able to drink 30 mins prior and after. But other than that, I'm feeling ahhhhmazing!!! I over half-way there and I really need to go to Goodwill to pick up a couple of pair of smaller jeans, I don't want to spend good money on jeans that I will be in for a short period of time. lol I hope you are all feeling great too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
