Tracking weight loss

Recommended Posts

Baritastic is what I use for food. It also tracks my weight by linking to my Fitindex app that is connected via Bluetooth to my scale. Fitindex does BMI and other weight related measurements….they also have a Bluetooth measuring tape that is awesome.

So, I step on the scale, Fitindex logs the weight and the weight is automatically transferred to Baritastic.

I track my food in myfitnesspal - and record my weight there once a week (on Wednesdays - the day I had my surgery back in 2015).

then once a month, on the date of my surgery (the 3rd), I put my weight in an Excel spreadsheet.

Been using the app called Libra. It shows graphs, BMI, rate of weight loss per week, how many calories less you ate a day, goal vs actual... Etc.

I track my food in MyFitnessPal (I tried and hated both Baritastic and MyMacros+).

I track my weight and BMI with FitIndex which connects to my smart scale and the super-awesome smart measuring tape. I weigh in every Monday morning.

I use the free version of My Fitness Pal. All I really care about is my Protein intake so it's really just to make sure I get enough. I'm 3 yrs out now and still weigh myself daily but record it only once a week on Sunday. This works for me.

I use MyFitnessPal (free version). I've been using it since 2011 and I really like that I have that history there. You can create and save recipes you make, you can get macros, look at your weight over time, etc. There's a lot more it can do that I haven't figured out because I'm not great with technology.

I use Baritastic to track food because its linked to my surgeon's office; it also tracks weight/BMI/goals. I also use a FitTrack scale, which I LOVE because its incredibly data heavy, the app is super user friendly. I also use an app called "monitor your weight" because I like the layout.

Now I'm using WW proprietary food tracking app that includes activity and weight, but before that I was using FitnessPal, which has both free and premium paid options. It works really well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
