haneen 4 Posted September 15, 2021 I’m more than 2 months out. I was doing very well keeping everything down and eating all my Proteins and staying healthy. But recently I traveled with a group of friends and we partied for 3 days (I’m not usually a drinker but I had a couple of drinks from wine to shots) Since then I can’t keep most of the food down and I feel very nauseous. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is my stomach swollen or something? I’m very worried. Should I go back to liquids?
Candace76 212 Posted September 16, 2021 I'm sorry that you are having difficulty, it may be best to contact your surgeon as soon as possible. I have not experienced this, but not being able to keep foods down is one of the symptoms/side effects that I was informed to contact my team for. It may be possible that you are dehydrated also, if you have been vomiting. Alcohol can also cause dehydration. Hoping you feel better. 2 lizonaplane and haneen reacted to this
QuirkyParrot 28 Posted September 19, 2021 I would certainly contact your surgeon. It sounds like you may have ended up with a case of gastritis from the alcohol irritating your stomach lining. Since we don't have much stomach lining left, it's not hard to make it angry. They should be able to prescribe strong antacids and anti-emetics to get you back on track. Feel better! 1 haneen reacted to this
haneen 4 Posted September 20, 2021 I contacted my surgeon, he put me back on liquids and prescribed strong anti acids like you mentioned. I’m feeling better already. Thank you! 3 QuirkyParrot, lizonaplane and muffin.x reacted to this
