Same. I'm 3 weeks out tomorrow, lost 25 lbs. off the bat, not a pound down the last 4 days. I started tracking everything in MyFitnessPal to see what my calories/macros look like. I'm following my clinic's plan to a T. I'm trying to be patient and not get worked up over the stall. But it is super frustrating.

Yes, just stick to your program! It happens to all of us. Just make sure you are hitting your daily Protein and Water goals. Stalls can last days/weeks so be patient 😊

stick to your program and stay off the scale for a few days - and know that it'll break and you'll be on your way again!

I am also discouraged about my lack of weight loss. I'm 64, so I'm wondering if age has something to do with it. That and total irregularity (no movement at all, in spite of multiple laxatives being taken!)

My surgery was September 1. Before the surgery, I had lost 15 lbs. The first 10 days after the surgery I lost 10 lbs, but not a pound since (11 days). I am increasing my activity and up to walking /or stationary biking 40 minutes a day. I hit all my Protein grams and Water goals, and consume between 400-600 calories. I know people say this will get better, but I'm afraid my age and digestive woes are working against me.

Any older people have trouble making this work? I'm not going to give up, but I started at 288 and should be seeing more progress.

I had lost 36 lbs at my 6-week checkup. Another woman who had her sleeve done the same day had also lost 36 at 6 weeks. That may be a guideline for you. liquid and soft foods, concentrate on Protein, drinking before and after by 30 min, remembering your stomach can only handle up to 2/4 cup, throwing up, that all makes the weight go.

Try using a glycerin suppository laxative. I hadn't gone in a week and I used one and I had a BM in a half hour. So much better!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
