tetelove69 0 Posted December 11, 2007 I RECENTLY HAD MY SURGERY ON DECEMBER 4 2007 AND IT TRULY WAS THE BEGINNING OF MY LIFE. MY DOCTOR PUT ME ON A CLEAR liquid diet AND FOLLOWED WITH A FULL DIET FOR TWO WEEKS. OUT OF THE SIX MELAS THAT I AM SUPPOSE TO HAVE FOUR OF THOSE ARE SUPPOSE TO BE Protein Shakes. I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE DRINKING THE Protein shakes AND HAVE REPLACED THEM WITH CARNATION INSTANT Breakfast drinks. ANY ADVICE ON WHETHER THATS A GOOD IDEA OR NOT?:help:
tifferoni326 0 Posted December 11, 2007 those arent as good for you as the Protein Shakes, they wont have the high Protein in them..try watering down the shakes..that usually helps..if not find a shake you can drink with as much protein as you can..maybe add soy protein to those or something
Away2me 1 Posted December 11, 2007 I haven't had my surgery yet, but my girlfriend who has had it (as had her mom) said they have tried every Protein Drink possible and that this was their favorite: 100% whey Gold chocolate by Optimum Nutrition - VitaminShoppe.com

LovingWhatIs 0 Posted December 11, 2007 Try Isopure Zero Carb clear Drink. It has 40 grams of Protein, no carbs, and only 160 calories a bottle. It comes in great flavors like fruit punch, grape, orange, etc... You can get it at GNC or google it.
georgia girl 35 Posted December 11, 2007 What kind of shakes are you having trouble with? If it is a powder, try mixing it with skim milk instead of Water. I used the Pro Performance Protein Powder from GNC (chocolate caramel). For some reason, that particular flavor wasn't lumpy or thick. I mixed it with skim milk. tetelove69 0 Posted December 11, 2007 THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERY ONE WHO HAS REPLIED TO MY THREAD. ALL TOGETHER I GATHER THAT EVERYONE RECOMMENDS THAT I SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE CARNATION drinks AND EITHER CONTINUE WITH THE Protein Shakes OR TRY A DIFFERENT TYPE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FELLOW BANDERS FOR THE ADVICE.:clap2:
sfeiner 2 Posted December 11, 2007 I din't try the carnation because I like to grab a cabn of something I don't need to mix.
NoNo....my Dr say sugar free carnation instant breakfast or high carb slimfast are best.
Rosie15 9 Posted December 11, 2007 My Dr. recomends the carnation instant breakfast drinks if you can't stomach the other protien shakes. They are not that low in protien and you will only need them until you start on foods.
Big As Life 0 Posted December 11, 2007 I Drink The Whey Protein Shakes...but...they Have Gone From 15.97 To 18.97 In Three Weeks...that Is At Walmart...
Chrisann 0 Posted December 12, 2007 I am going to drink Slim Fast, 10 grams Protein in each one, and its on my doctors list, and then have one Isopure chocolate shake, with I think 40 grams of Protein in it while on my liquid phase. I also bought the unflavored Protein powder I am sure towards the end I can mix that into something, maybe even the broth with the veggies. I bought the Isopure and unflavored protein powder at GNC. LovingWhatIs 0 Posted December 13, 2007 I am a big fan of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Isolate Whey Protein drinks. specially for Lap Band/Bariatric patients, low calorie, 1 carb, high Protein.< /p> The unflavored is great to add to yougurt and Soup. The Chocoate and vanilla make a great shake and the chicken Soup rocks. Welcome to the Unjury Homepage
FireDust 0 Posted December 13, 2007 My BF (who hasn't had the surgery, he's just a muscley fellow) really likes the whey Protein over all the other kinds. He likes the chocolate - syas it tastes like a chocolate malt shake.< /span>
