Looking for Fill Drs in Central Florida

Recommended Posts

Hello All, I really need your help. I had surgery with an incredible doctor. Dr. Miguel Silva in New York 4/05. I had my first and only fill 3/06. It's coming up on 2008 and I since moved to the Central Florida area. Although Dr. Silva was absolutely fantastic, I don't want to travel back to NYC for a fill. Any suggestions? Anyone reputable in the Central Florida area?

I think there is a Lap band doc at Florida hospital at the Celebration location. Are you in the Orlando area?

I am over in Melbourne--not sure if my doc here does fills for other patients or not but I know that he is even listed on the Lap band site.... Depending on where you live it might be a shorter drive over here than St Pete.

I live in Melb, and Fusco doesn't do "Mexican bands", actually USA fills is the only place I've found and don't want to do the drive. I haven't had the surgery yet, looking to get it done in march, but wanted to line something up before hand, St Pete will be my last resort..I'll keep plugging away, thanks for the response...PD

From the seminar, I recall my doctor discussing working with patients who were banded by other doctors. Though I think it was mainly for corrections or revisions, it is possible that he may do so for fills too. He is part of Bradenton Surgical Group - Dr. Jose Erbella and Dr. Gary Bunch. West of central FL of course, but another possible option to check.

PBdove,

I have my fills done by Dr. Velarde. He is an Omni Doc with an office in Palm Bay. I don't know if he will do them for bands done out of the country. But, I would check, because it is much closer that St. Pete. Also, you can check into Dr. Domkowski, he did my surgery and has just moved his office to Sebastian. I think he will do fill's for bands done by other doctors. You can PM me if you want phone numbers...

Hope this is of some help...good luck.

I spoke with Dr. Domkowski today, he is in Sebastain, Indian River County, and he said that he does do fills for pt's that were banded in Mexico. Just call and set up the appointment... 772-581-8003

Hope this helps...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
