Florida lipo regulations

Recommended Posts

In Florida, only 4000cc of fat may be removed during liposuction, which equals approximately 7-8 pounds or 3.5 liters. Additionally, if a patient is having more than one procedure, such as a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) and a Tummy Tuck, only 1,000cc of fat may be removed.May 5, 2021

I would check a different source, if for no other reason than 4000cc is, by definition, exactly 4 litres. Fat weighs 0.9094g per cc, so 4000 cc of fat weighs 3637.6g, or 8.0194 lbs. It might be right, but the weird conversion mistakes make me doubt it.

From what I remember it usually goes by volume not weight when performing Lipo (canisters with measurements) and even then there is a mixture of blood, serous and tumescent Fluid with the fat

Dr. Earle states right in his videos that FL has limits that other states may not have.

The take away is that with multiple procedures (abdominoplasty), FL does not allow much Lipo.

And yes I did a copy/paste, and did not check the math, it was a PS site.

Tennessee has different guidelines, etc.

Just do a Google on state restrictions on liposuction w/wo other procedures.

Sounds like a great reason for a trip to another state. Wow, Florida.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
