Tomo 1,194 Posted July 28, 2021 I'm going in for a revision from sleeve to bypass soon. I can not do RTD Protein Shakes. They are far far too sweet for me. I do not have a sweet tooth at all. What I've been doing since my sleeve these past few years is just using fruit for flavor, like a few strawberries without sugar or artificial sweetener... Etc. So I feel like I'm a fix because after surgery, I have to go 14 days on liquid diet which includes Protein shakes but I don't think I can add fruit even if blended well, right? Any ideas what I can add to my Water (or other liquid) and unsweetened Protein Powder that will work post-op bypass? I know I can add my protein powder to broth but would really like to have some type of Protein Shake. Can I use PB2 (peanut butter powder) on the 4th day Post-Op? Is there such a thing as fruit flavored powder unsweetened that I can add to it? I don't know. I think I'm nervous and am overthinking things this time around. lol Thanks in advance! kristieshannon 1,668 Posted July 28, 2021 Are you a coffee fan? I mix my morning Protein Shake with cold brew coffee which cuts down the sweetness quite a bit. 2 Tomo and GirlNextor reacted to this

Like adding unflavored protein powder to milk (low-fat dairy, unsweetened almond, or soy) and shaking vigorously? Ask your clinic about using PB2 that soon after surgery -- probably fine if you pour it through a fine-mesh strainer after blending, but of course you should check with your team first. 1 Tomo reacted to this

I drink a Protein Shake with my coffee every morning. I have a really big tumbler, so just pour the cold shake from the fridge into hot coffee and sip on it for a while through the first part of the day. I prefer the ready-to-drink shakes from Premier Protein, but I really only like the Cafe Latte. The rest are too sweet for me too. You asked about fruit-flavored Protein powder- have you looked at Unjury? They have a ton of different flavors. I've tried the strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla, but they have a long list of choices. It has been a while, but I don't remember them being very sweet. https://unjury.com/protein/protein-powder.html Edited July 29, 2021 by billho 2 Tomo and mi75 reacted to this

Yeah, something to go with my low-fat dairy... Etc. Thank you. You are right, I need to ask about PB2 to my team.
CKmommy 27 Posted July 29, 2021 I second the PB2!!!! I put it in a fairlife chocolate Protein drink! It is like a treat! I’m going to try a little instant coffee once I get to the store and blend it. 1 Tomo reacted to this
