kimix90 1 Posted July 26, 2021 I am now almost 4 months out and I feel that I am able to eat too much. I can eat two scrambled eggs in a meal. I have also been able to eat an entire sandwich ( with one thin piece of ham, lettuce and tomato) another day. I drink a lot of Water and I still do a Protein Shake almost every day. But its it bad that I can fit alot like two eggs? I have lost a total of 53lbs since the surgery but its been a month that I have not lost anything and I even think I regained 2 pounds. I am so scared for this not to work. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted July 26, 2021 I don't think two scrambled eggs is too much. I don't know how much bread was in the sandwich, but I was told to focus on Protein and not eat too much carbs like bread, which is simple carbs. I was told protein first, then veggies, and only if still hungry, complex carbs (like quinoa or brown rice). You might just be in a stall, but you could also contact your surgery center's nutritionist to make sure you're on track with your eating and exercise. Good luck! 3 Luna Girl, Arabesque and GreenTealael reacted to this
kristieshannon 1,668 Posted July 26, 2021 Are you tracking everything you eat? If not you should think about starting to! Not just for calorie content, but to make sure you are meeting your Protein goals and not exceeding the carb guidelines your plan gave you. 2 Luna Girl and Arabesque reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 26, 2021 calorie requirements can be an individual thing, so it's hard to tell. If a month or so goes by and you haven't lost anything, you may be in maintenance (when calories in are equal to calories out). If so, if you decrease your calories or increase your activity, you should start losing again. 3 Luna Girl, Arabesque and GreenTealael reacted to this

Arabesque 7,442 Posted July 27, 2021 I second the suggestions to track your food for a while if you’re not & speak with your dietician. Because we are different heights, builds, ages, weight loss histories, etc., with different activity levels, we also have different caloric needs to lose or maintain. At 26 months, I physically can only eat about 1.5 eggs & eat about 1200 calories to maintain but that’s me & what I can & need to eat. If you can eat more or need to eat more for your body to function healthily that’s fine. My plan was portion sizes & Protein & fluid goals with no calories goals. I was also no bread, rice or Pasta & only small amounts of carbs from whole or multi grains. Protein first, then vegetables then fruit. I stopped shakes at week 3 & haven’t had one since. I got & get my protein from the food I eat. Are you really hungry? Are you eating what you need or what you want? Or out of habit, or because of cravings or emotions? Are you eating until you don’t need more or until you are full (there’s a difference)? I still reflect on these questions to focus on why I’m eating or why I’m hungry. Losing 53lbs in 4 months is a good amount of weight - congratulations. You may be in a longer stall while your body plays catch up. Or you may be in maintenance - your food intake equals the calories your body needs to function. Have much more weight do you want to lose?
