Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone used an abdominal binder of any sort during their post op recover. I keep seeing ads pop up on my feed for one, but I wonder if it is a necessity or something that may be recommended?

Nope, I didn’t. I didn’t really like anything around my middle - not painful just a bit uncomfortable. Used to roll down the waistbands of my pants so they would sit at my hips & under my wounds.

We all carry our weight in different places & if you have a larger or pendulous tummy, a binder my help support it & not strain your surgical wounds.

I had surgery 5 days ago and used one on the long drive home, going up and down stairs and walking. I think it’s most helpful the first few days.

I did not (I did after my plastic surgery, but not my RNY) - but I know some people have and liked them.
