Gamma98 22 Posted July 16, 2021 I am 4.5 weeks out from surgery. I am down a lousy 13 pounds since then. Why am I not losing anything? I thought I would see more movement on the scale. I am open to any tips or suggestions please. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
AjaSlimtone 34 Posted July 16, 2021 The less you have to lose, the slower it comes off. All that matters is the scale is moving in the right direction. 3 brightly, GreenTealael and Arabesque reacted to this
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted July 16, 2021 As @AjaSlimtone said, your starting weight is quite low, so you will not be able to lose fast, like people who start at 300 or 400 lbs. Just follow your surgery center's instructions to the letter and trust in the process. Make sure you're getting your fluids and Protein. You got this! 1 AjaSlimtone reacted to this
Gamma98 22 Posted July 16, 2021 Thank you. I am on the soft food stage finally and it is a lot easier to get my Proteins in now. I struggled my first couple weeks I was worried because you see so many with higher weight loss and didn’t know what I was doing wrong. 1 lizonaplane reacted to this
The Greater Fool 2,054 Posted July 16, 2021 Get rid of your scale. It's making you crazy. Good luck, Tek 1 brightly reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) I lost 16 lbs the first month and started at over 300 lbs. You've lost 11 and started at 211 lbs. Your loss seems very normal. You are starting at a much lower weight than the average WLS patient, so you're not going to lose as quickly. I think you are doing fine! ShoppGirl 5,024 Posted July 16, 2021 I agree with the others. I was a lower BMI too and I am losing it much slower than the average poster on here but it has been 4.5 months and the scale still keeps slowly creeping down. The important thing is that it is going down. This is a very effective tool. If you are using it correctly it will work. (That’s hard for many of us to believe After so many failed weight loss attempts in the past but you just have to trust the process). 2 catwoman7 and Esi reacted to this

Arabesque 7,442 Posted July 17, 2021 Nothing wrong with losing 13lbs. We all lose at our own rate & it’s sometimes best not to compare especially against someone who may be younger, taller, more active, had a higher starting weight, a faster metabolism, etc. Celebrate every pound you lose. It’s amazing. 1 1 Gamma98 and catwoman7 reacted to this
