juliet15teck 0 Posted December 10, 2007 I haven't been banded yet - am schedule for Jan. 15th! I've heard mixed things in books I've read on foods that are tolerable. Can you still eat bread or steak (of course small bites, well chewed) after you've been banded?
Jachut 487 Posted December 10, 2007 I can. They're hard foods, take a bit of effort but I can eat them
uniqueone 0 Posted December 10, 2007 Same as Jacqui, however, if the bites are too big---WATCH OUT!!!
mandi78 3 Posted December 10, 2007 I haven't tried steak but bread has not been too much of a problem for me so far. I do have to be careful and eat it slowly though and if it's a bun, I usually wind up taking most of the top off. I've only had 2 fills so far though. neveragain 9 Posted December 10, 2007 I can do both with a bit of effort.
Nettie 1 Posted December 10, 2007 I've been banded 8 weeks and a few days. I've had 2 fills and yes, I still eat bread in moderation. I do not eat steak, but I didn't eat steak before being banded. I eat a lot of grilled chicken and fish. Good luck to you!
juliegeraci 7 Posted December 11, 2007 Yes, I can eat both just not much of them.
lovekatz1975 1 Posted December 11, 2007 I've had dark toast and a small amount of steak. I didn't get stuck, but that was also before my first fill. I wouldn't dare touch a roll, bagel or untoasted bread.< /p>
Jennie1976 1 Posted December 11, 2007 I have to chew obsessively, but I can eat anything. SMALL bites and chewing for twenty minutes. Sometimes it's worth it. Sometimes it's not. Unfortunately I also have a disease where I have to eat lots of carbs, so bread is usually "worth it" to me. BTW, I've had three fills (up to 2.1 right now) if that helps
