Not thinking about eating too much just happy I'm home because I have Gatorade zero and crystal light and all that good stuff. Still trying to get comfortable though 1 FunbytheLb reacted to this
codevsg 8 Posted August 26, 2021 So how much are we supposed to drink the first week. Is it really just 4oz at a time? I got an example schedule and it has me drinking something every hour. Just not sure how to get a 20-30 grams of Protein when I can only have 4oz at a time.

The premiere tastes better IMO but I doubt I can drink 11ozSent from my SM-G981V using BariatricPal mobile app
Shelly689 12 Posted August 26, 2021 Shelly, so about a week on pain meds? I was hoping just a few days, but that makes sense. I read somewhere it is 2-3 weeks for incisions to heal and 6-8 weeks for the staple line to heal. I gave myself two weeks of recovery and plan to go back to work after that. I have a desk job and work from home so I am hoping it won’t be too tough. I’m really on top of liquids, Proteins, and walks. I think that will help. Taking about 4oz and hour. Feeling okay after morning pain meds. I did not need any pain Meds after 10 AM the day after my surgery. I haven't taken anything since then. They say pain levels diff each patient. On day 11 post op. I go back work Mon but only 4 days then off another wk. Listen to your body I am lil tired so rest when I need to. Pray u will have a speedy recovery. Blessing76 3 Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) Hello everyone! I had my gastric sleeve and (unexpected) hiatal hernia repair on August 12th. Post op hasn't been fun. I should be on purees this week, but I can't swallow much. Just Water, broth, and gatorade. I'm praying things will get better. I can now wear my wedding ring. So I'm definitely losing weight. I’m only 2 weeks post-op now, so I can’t really offer any long-term insight, but I’m happy I did it. The first couple days in the hospital are rough but once you get through your first week, things will get better! We are in this together and I am rooting for you!! You are making the right decision, and you’ll feel some relief after you get back home and recover for a bit! Saying a prayer for your surgery and speedy recovery! Thank you so much! Your words brought me so much comfort! And, you are right - this first week is rough, but definitely seeing the small improvements each day. Best wishes to you! I'm rooting for you, too! I hope your first month is going really well! 🙂
