Hi,

I was banded four months ago. I'm having some struggles being too tight, but won't go into it more until I get acquainted and read some posts here.

I'm doing well with the weight loss...and am down fifty pounds.

It's no easy ride though.

Hi Cramped -

Although it is no "easy" ride, you should not be struggling with being too tight. You'll find lots of information here in previous posts on why being too tight is NOT the way to go. We look forward to more details on your situation when you feel comfortable sharing.

Hi cramped. I had my lapband surgery on Sept. 29th, 2005. I am just learning.

My first filling was bad. The dr.'s assisstant missed the port. So I went a whole month without filling. I have lost only 20 lbs. Sometimes discouraged

Cramped..please get acquainted with reading the posts..becasue great weight loos at the expense of being too tight has its risks. I would hate to see you lose your band due to being too tight.

If you feel this is not an easy ride, I am curious to find out why? I hope soon you feel comfortable to share with us so maybe some of us here can offer you some guidance and support through this difficult time you are having ;)

hi cramped

being too tight is not healthy to you and the longevity of your band. don't be foolish. read and learn cuz too tight means possible frequent pb's and frequent pbs can lead to slippage.

Patricia, why don't you start a new thread and tell us a little bit about yourself? 20 lbs is 20 lbs, hey, so you have a lot to Celebrate. Your opportunity for success with the band is not over. Now you have a fill so you may be learning about life with restriction? How are things going for you now?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
