Hello. I have had the Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am currently taking Bariatric Advantage "Advanced Multi EA Chewable" Vitamins and I hate them.

My doctor told me specifically to stay about from "Capsule" vitamins for a specified amount of time after surgery and to also stay away from "Gummy" vitamins too.

Anyway, now I see that Bariatric Advantage also has a "Chewy Bite" form of the Vitamin. I am wondering if this form of vitamin is okay to take for Gastric Sleeve patients? Do any other Gastric Sleeve people take the "Chewy Bite" form of the vitamin??

I really want and need to stick to my vitamin regiment, but this "Chewable" by Bariatric Advantage is just very large and very nasty to me and is making it hard to stick with it.

I believe their chewy bite Vitamins are like the calcium citrate chews (the packaging looks the same). I have been taking the Calcium since I got home from the hospital without any problems. I know Bariatric Advantage has samples of their vitamins. I got them from my nutritionist. Perhaps yours has them or if not the company could send you one. If not, I know that I tried one flavor of the calcium chews I didn’t like and they took them back no questions asked. Hope this helps.

I know they do have Calcium Chew Bites, but I'm talking specifically about the Multivitamin. They have that in Chewy Bite form too. But, if you have been taking Chewy Bites form of vitamins since you got home from the hospital, then I assume it's okay for me to do. lol.

Did your doctor also warn you off staying away from capsules or gummys?

They didn’t say one way or the other about capsules or gummys. They just suggested the same Multivitamin you take and the calcium chews. Wish I could be more help.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
