I had a Tummy Tuck, breast lift & augmentation, and an arm lift in January. Yes, I could use the bathroom on my own from day 1. Thank goodness!

If you don't mind me asking, about how much did this cost? Im hoping to get all of these (or at least the tuck and breast augmentation) and am curious how I should be budgeting for it! I know my insurance wont touch it since they didn't cover any of the VSG! (if you don't feel comfortable disclosing the cost no worries!!)

It will vary wildly depending on where you are. I live in Seattle. I got four quotes here ranging from $30,000-$40,000. I did a ton of research and found that PS is much, much cheaper in Florida. My quotes there were $10,000-$16,000. I went with the doctor who charged $16,000 as he has a private practice and a strong emphasis on safety. The cheaper quote was from a high volume large clinic with many doctors. There are others here who have gone out of the country to the Dominican Republic, Mexico, or other countries and have paid less. I’d encourage you to review as much as you can about safety records wherever you chose.

I had arm lift, breast lift and Tummy Tuck.

I could go to the bathroom no prob from day 1.

Re: arm lift specifically: anything that required me to lift my arms UP was a bit of an issue in the days immediately afterwards (i.e., reaching up in the kitchen cupboards, taking a t-shirt on/off, washing my hair, etc...)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
