I am 9 months out and have gone from 216 to 131 and still have a huge belly with a lot of fat. I noticed it in recent pics that I have rolls still? How can this be if I only weigh 131 lbs.? I don't get it. I am so skinny everywhere else. How do I get rid of this belly without having plastic surgery?

there probably isn't much fat there - it's probably mostly/all excess skin. I had a lot of rolls when I had a DEXA scan done at 146 lbs. I thought it was all fat - and I wanted to see how much more weight I should lose (thus, i had the scan). Turns out I only had 22% body fat, which is pretty lean for a woman. That "fat" was just skin.

I hate to say it, but plastic surgery is the only want to get rid of it.

TY for this info. I was afraid of that. I am so scared of getting plastic surgery. My family and hubby are so against it also which makes me even more leery.

Its been roughly over 7 months since surgery and as I am leaning out I notice my belly protudes alot too. I think I will wait until a full year and see how 'bad' it actually is. But yeah , nothing wrong with getting plastic surgery.

waiting a year is a good idea - sometimes things shift around and you start looking a lot better. Plus many of us gain 10-20 lbs after hitting our lowest weight, unfortunately. Although not everyone would agree with me, it's probably good to have plastic surgery when your weight has more-or-less stabilized.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
