Myran 19 Posted May 26, 2021 (edited) So I took the final step yesterday and now have my surgery scheduled for September 7th. I am so excited, even though I was originally hoping for surgery in July but the surgeon will be on vacation and I cannot do surgery in August due to work. On the other hand, this gives me more time to prepare mentally and read up even more on life post-surgery. Based on my extensive questionnaire I was approved for the mini gastric bypass but I am still considering whether I want the mini-bypass or the regular bypass. lizonaplane 1,613 Posted May 26, 2021 I have been preparing for surgery since January, and my surgery won't be until July or August. Although waiting has been really hard, I will say that I've taken the time to start eating the types of foods I will need to eat for the long term after surgery - not the post-op liquid diet, but the long term healthy diet of lower carbs, higher Protein, lots of veggies, low sugar. Some people have food funerals and gain weight prior to surgery, but I am working really hard to lose weight and it's been great for me so far; I'm realizing that it's not that hard. The only time I crave junk is when I see TV commercials, and I rarely watch TV, so it's not really an issue. Any weight I lose now is weight I don't have to lose after surgery! 2 meggs353 and Myran reacted to this
