Patches

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Does any one uses the Patches on here? Do the work? I am from Australia and a number of them look really good for me rather than taking a ton of tablets.....I already take 20in the morning lol

My surgery center said no Patches or gummies, but I know many people here use them and have good results. One thing is if you have sensitive skin, it's possible to get a rash from the adhesive. Maybe someone else here has had good results and will respond. I'm just responding mostly to "upvote" your post!

I have sensitive skin and get a rash from them but I do use a Vitamin D one on top of tablets to combat my chronic Vitamin d deficiency. So far with it my levels have been good.

Hopefully someone has more input for you.

I use the Patches because I get really nauseous from Vitamins. Did before surgery, now it is worse, so my dr said to do the patches. Have recently had blood work and all my levels are good/improved except my Iron is a bit low. I would check with your dr. Here is a picture of what I use. I order directly from their website.

the Patches work for some but not for others. I've never tried them because I'm sure I'd be one of those people they don't work for. But they might be worth a shot if you're tired of taking all the pills - they may end up working for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
