Delicious and the warm Water really helps calm the hunger Sent from my moto g stylus using BariatricPal mobile app 2 MoreThanWords and Karriekuddles reacted to this
ymelgard 12 Posted July 6, 2021 Me too!! I want Mexican and seafood so bad!![emoji30][emoji30]During pre op I craved Mexican and so I found a local spot that served tortilla Soup. I would drink the broth and it helped with the craving . Sent from my moto g stylus using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Karriekuddles reacted to this
Losewate 11 Posted July 6, 2021 Hi guys, I’m very new to this and maybe in the wrong area, or maybe not!! You decide? I am part of the July intake but I already had my sleeve surgery on 1st July 2021. 8 hours ago, ymelgard said: During pre op I craved Mexican and so I found a local spot that served tortilla Soup. Sue2 37 Posted July 6, 2021 For me the pain hasn’t really been an issue. I had otc liquid Tylenol the morning of the 3rd and nothing since. My biggest issue has been the burning sensation when drinking my Water or Protein Shake. It doesn’t seem to matter how small the sip- it still burns. The good news about that is between sips it does settle down. I’ve already lost 4 pounds. Don’t be surprised if you actually gain a few pounds after surgery. It’s just the IV fluids. You’ll lose it quickly 1 Losewate reacted to this
Mother of boys 25 Posted July 6, 2021 I didn’t have much pain just the trapped air…. The same about the sensation as I swallow 😢 I weighed myself before leaving the hospital and gained the nurse said it’s the IV…. I was like OMG lol How many days are you? Sue2 37 Posted July 6, 2021 Had my surgery July 1. The heartburn has been the worst part. I’ve never had it before. Did your problems with swallowing eventually go away? When did you have surgery?

X I too have trapped air, I’m 5 days in and trying my best to get to the desired levels of liquid but it’s very difficult 😥 I’m wondering if using slimfast is the best idea, as there is 325ml and 15 Protein in there. I feel my stomach sore when I drink too fast but am also feeling quite stressed today and don’t know why!

When did you have surgery? I’m finding that if you do feel problems with swallowing, just step back a bit and rest from the liquids, even for 20 mins, then try again . I feel I’m mixing everything up a lot. I have Water and slimfast and drink from each (as in, I don’t finish a glass & start the other!) I then have Soup for lunch, that takes me around an hour to drink too! It’s very difficult, I was up till 11 pm last night, trying to get more liquids in🤦♀️👍 x
Mother of boys 25 Posted July 6, 2021 I’m moving on to the Protein Drinks tomorrow. I had my surgery July 4th so only day 3 im currently drinking apple juice with Water to dilute it but not sure if I’m going to get my fluids in today.
Sue2 37 Posted July 6, 2021 Thanks for the help! I’m struggling to get 8 cups of Water and am only allowed 8 oz of Premier Protein shakes a day. I’ve tried every 15 minutes. It takes me an hour or more to get down a cup of water. I’m going to try to spread it out even more to see if that helps. I’m glad to find someone close to my surgery date. It sure helps to not feel alone! 1 Losewate reacted to this
Losewate 11 Posted July 6, 2021 I’m same Sue, we’ll get there, I’m sure😊 my hospital co-ordinator called yesterday and said I was doing ok.. just to focus on the fluids getting in just now. It’s very difficult to drink all the fluids but we can only drink what we can, and reach the next stage 🙏 I’m so glad we are so near each other operation wise too, we can compare notes and help each other through. Do you mind me asking what weight you were to make you think of the surgery in the first place? 😊 x 1 WorldCruiser reacted to this
Sue2 37 Posted July 6, 2021 My highest weight was 290. I’ve tried to lose weight over the past year. I started the process at 282 and went into surgery at 263. As of this morning I’ve lost 5 lbs. How about you? Would love to continue to compare notes. So far this morning my burning is better just backing off a little 2 Losewate and WorldCruiser reacted to this
Candace76 212 Posted July 6, 2021 Congrats to Mother of 2, Losewate & Sue2 on your surgeries! Your updates and information are helpful to those of us that are scheduled later this month. I am having a hard time getting my Water in pre op, I can only imagine how difficult it will be those first few days after surgery. 🤦♀️ 2 WorldCruiser and Losewate reacted to this
Mother of boys 25 Posted July 6, 2021 Thank you ❤️ Tomorrow I’m moving onto the Protein drinks so hopefully will be able to get fluids in. I did find PreSurgery drinking the protein Water sachets but using more water helped. 1 1 Candace76 and WorldCruiser reacted to this
