rch1286 23 Posted May 11, 2021 Hi All, I’m nearly 9 weeks post arm lift and panniculectomy. I still have about a quarter size open incision in both arm pits. My surgeon treated it about two weeks ago with silver nitrate, and I’m going back next Thursday for her to do it again. I’ve been keeping in clean and dry per the instructions I received and it doesn’t look infected. My arms are still very swollen and I’ve continued to wear my compression garments nearly all day. Did anyone else have an experience like this?
catwoman7 11,220 Posted May 11, 2021 (edited) it takes awhile for the swelling to go down - most of it is gone by about the three month mark, but it can take a full year before it's COMPLETELY gone. You'll get there.. P.S. I didn't have open incisions, but I "spit" several sutures. It was painful enough that it was hard for me to keep compression garments on for very long. My arms still turned out fine, though.. Edited May 11, 2021 by catwoman7
