Here's a new one. And I know you all can relate. I just had my 3 month post surgery check with the doctor and what he had to tell me just made me feel good all over. He is that I am Obese. Wait, wait, I know some of you are thinking ,"What the heck?". But for me to be told that I am "just" obese and not morbidly obese, or super morbidly obese, is something to Celebrate. I just absolutely love this band. No matter the scars, the inability to really embrace a full on holiday dinner, the "stuck" food on occasion. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I Love band land.

Is there some kind of chart or formula available to figure out the weight to lose to go from morbid to severe to just obese to just overweight ? Does it have to do with the BMI numbers?

There is a rule, although I cant remember what it is, but it does go my your BMI, I think in one set of numbers is obese, then another set of numbers it is morbidly obese and so on, and so on. Only we would understand the joy of being called obese. LOL

do a search on google for BMI chart and you will find one you enter your hight and weight and age and it will tell you your BMI and if you are overweight /super obese and so forth

I did a search for this and found:

Calculate Your BMI

Just for kicks, I was marking off when Morbid Obesity becomes Severe Obesity to Obesity to Healthy...then on to what they consider underweight.

At a mere 80 pounds, I'd just be Under Weight. How come there isn't a scale for that labeled Morbidly or Severely?

<sigh> just bitter grapes...sorry, folks!

Way to go Kao! :)

You got me to do it too, and I was pleasantly surprised to find I went from MO to Obese. Another 20 pounds and I'll be just "overweight".

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
