MichelleKnight1434 2 Posted May 1, 2021 Hey friends, had my VSG on Thursday morning and I’m still having pain with sips. It’s intermittent most of the time and doesn’t last long but it’s pretty sharp. Anyone with a similar experience immediately post op?
Sweet1sunn 0 Posted May 2, 2021 (edited) I had my VSG on a Tuesday and I’m still experiencing this. I’m having a hard time getting down my required Fluid for the day. Edited May 2, 2021 by Sweet1sunn

Arabesque 7,429 Posted May 2, 2021 It’s likely swelling from the surgery. It happened to me too & that’s what my surgeon said it was. I had so much saliva as a result I carried a sick bag with me to spit it out. Had trouble swallowing my meds too. It noticeably improved by about day 3. I was not anywhere near meeting my fluid goals for those days. But it did improve. Good luck.
MissyG133 4 Posted May 2, 2021 Yes, I came home yesterday and have been taking it slow but also have sharp irritating pains with anything I sip on
TinaRN 2 Posted May 2, 2021 I'm 3.5 weeks out and I feel this is pretty normal. My Protein Shakes where hard to get down the first two weeks and then improved significantly. They still sit heavy in my stomach though. I'm feeling well now and my issues is now keeping up hydration if I go out and do something which keeps me from drinking Water for an hour or two. Hang in there, it really does get better. Promise! 1 1 lizonaplane and BypassedSophie reacted to this
