JenniferHawk1980 23 Posted May 13, 2021 I hear the negatives also, but I ask everyone... would you do it again? And they have all said yes. Or they regret they didn’t do it sooner. I wish I had done sooner!! 6 HealthyN'Fit4Life, HashiHope121, You Are My Sunshine and 3 others reacted to this
Samym 19 Posted May 13, 2021 I am going through the same thing. Everyday I read about what to expect, what do I need, what can go wrong...its alot. I have my preop today with the surgeons office. Hopefully that goes well. Im excited to have the surgery. Just scared of the changes afterwards. 4 LanaLee, NewMe_2021, HealthyN'Fit4Life and 1 other reacted to this
Shrink&Grow 49 Posted May 13, 2021 I have been recently focusing more on the long term (better health outcomes) and the practicalities of my surgery date (booking time off work & dog-sitter!) But I am worried I am not going to cope in the month or two following surgery with the fatigue and adjusting to new ways of eating and drinking. All my surgeon says is research more! And then when I have too many questions about malabsorption he said I had read too much hahaha.. it's really hard to know how it will be for each individual. I am scared as I am self-funding mine that I will be in debt for a procedure that won't work / goes wrong. But I have faith in my surgeon and can't go on like this. 2 HealthyN'Fit4Life and NewMe_2021 reacted to this
JenniferHawk1980 23 Posted May 13, 2021 I was told that I am going home from the hospital the same day, and should only be out of work a week (desk job). I am so ready! I am almost a week into the liquid diet, and it’s getting easier every day. I am walking and drinking a ton of Water. I am losing between 1-2 pounds a day- and that’s motivating me!! Good luck all!! 4 HealthyN'Fit4Life, NewMe_2021, Shrink&Grow and 1 other reacted to this
NewMe_2021 56 Posted May 13, 2021 I was told similar, that I would be off work for a week (desk job and working from home). So, I've told my boss to definitely plan on me being out a week, but, thankfully he is fine if I need to take more time or work half days for the second week. I've heard of a lot of folks going home the same day. My surgeon has me spending one night at the hospital and I have no doubt I will be anxious to get home the next day! So glad to hear the liquid diet is getting easier! I'm going to remind myself of that a bunch when I start mine at the end of the month! 1 HealthyN'Fit4Life reacted to this
Samym 19 Posted May 13, 2021 I was told I would be out 3 weeks which he gave me doctors note for. Which is ok with me lets me get my routine before I go back. Im staying one night in the hospital and only have to do liquids the day before surgery. Im so glad. I was worried about having to do it for 2 weeks. 1 HealthyN'Fit4Life reacted to this
tsrewis 4 Posted May 13, 2021 I'm having an endoscopic sleeve done 6/17! Could probably have chosen earlier (self-pay) but that's the best time I could get time off work. 1 HealthyN'Fit4Life reacted to this

Nsch1018 31 Posted May 14, 2021 Hi Everyone! how wonderful to have found this forum! My surgery is scheduled for June 1st. Not nervous, just ready to have it and then be able to live! So glad to have found this forum to be able share with others. I may be a bit older than many of you — I’m 62. I just retired and have helping to take care of grandchildren. My main goals are to stop the beginnings of joint pain, high blood pressure, etc. I also want to be able to run and play with my grandkids for many years. I have a hiatal hernia that is going to b3 repaired at the same time. Anyone else with this issue? 2 2 t0bell@, Keisha321, HealthyN'Fit4Life and 1 other reacted to this
