I'm still on full liquids so currently my day is usually as follows: half a Protein Shake first thing, fluids, half a greek yogurt, fluids, other half of Protein shake, 4oz strained Soup, fluids, half a greek yogurt, fluids, more soup or sugar free pudding, protein shake or Water, sometimes broth some times a sugar free popsicle. I try to hit over 40oz on regular fluids and then Protein Shakes or water get me to 64oz for the day. And I'm averaging 60-70g protein. Currently around 400 calories in a day. I'm dying to move on to purees, I would love a scrambled egg or egg salad. I like to torture myself at night watching tiktoks of other people eating delicious food [emoji1787]

My VSG Surgery is tomorrow 5/28 @ 1130am. I am going to be going home same day about 6-7hrs after the surgery is complete as long as I am drinking, walking, and I can go to the bathroom. Since I will be home my first night, should I be sleeping on my back or have people been able to sleep on their sides? I am a side sleeper and was wondering.
I had my surgery done 5/19 and as I side sleeper I am seriously tired on sleeping upright!

I know this is tmi but I wanted to know if anyone is experiencing the same thing. Okay so, I don’t wear deodorant only if I am going to work so somewhere important or that I will sweat. I mean like if I am in the house for a week I won’t wear deodorant that whole week just regular showers and I won’t have no body odor period. So after the surgery I notice I had a body odor which I never had before. And it continues even after I bathed and I literally scrub scrub my under arms. Now I am noticing the smell other places. Has anyone experienced this. I am trying not to panic. Please help

Sounds like Keto. Your body is in ketotsis and that cause odd odors, including breath and your hootchy, your sweat will smell different as well as your urine. How far post op are you?

Yes that is about right for ketosis. your carb intake is low, as well as fat. Only takes about 3 days to get into ketosis.

Good luck to everyone with surgery on the last day of May - myself included. Surgery in less than an hour.

Looking for other May 2021 folks to share the journey with! I'm scheduled for May 5th and start my liquid diet in just a few days. Anyone else on/around the same time? What kind of pre-op diet do you have? I admit I'm super nervous about how I'm going to manage the next couple of weeks and keep up my energy at work.

I thought the dame thing but two weeks flew by, you'll be ok. Just don't eat the same thing everyday.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
