Were you in the states or did you go out of country to have then done? *And if you've moved over to the plastic surgery forum, I'll find you there.

Andy W 17 Posted May 24, 2021 Just completed my gastric sleeve surgery on May 20th; working through the liquid diet post op. So far the best thing to eat has been the thinned mashed potatoes. Surgery went well; 30 minutes they tell me, and I was out same day (no overnight stay). I recommend minimizing car rides post op; our house was 55 miles from the hospital and that ride was painful about 5 hours after surgery. Down 35 lbs so far; 65 lbs to go; well on the way! 2 2 SummerTimeGirl, pk88, ChunkyCali and 1 other reacted to this

Wasnt sure if anyone else did this too Yeah, I went back to my hotel room an hour or two after. Next day I was on a plane headed home. Andy W 17 Posted May 24, 2021 My surgery was May 20th and went well. They told me going in that I needed to get there 2 hrs before surgery to go through paperwork and get prepped, then 1 hour for surgery (gastric sleeve) and 4 hrs of observation post surgery. They want to make sure you can walk a couple laps around the nurse station post op, and can drink at least 8+ of the 1 oz cups of Water and ice cubes. At that point they discharged me and we were outta there. 1 smilelaura reacted to this
Beautifulhero 6 Posted May 24, 2021 (edited) Just checking in on everyone, I am about a week post op now and feeling much better. Still not able to get much down but focusing more on fluids to keep me hydrated. My question to everyone is when does all the swelling go away? I dont really feel gassy anymore and I have lost a significant amount of weight in a week but still feel extremely swollen and I can tell by the way my pants and undies fit. andyh6785 3 Posted May 24, 2021 I was on the 20th and didn't get discharged until Saturday. I've been very gassy since and feel that I am lucky to get 30 oz down a day right now.Sent from my SM-G973U using BariatricPal mobile app
MelVee 0 Posted May 25, 2021 Hi everyone! First post here and learning this. I had my surgery on May 13th. So I’m post op day 11 I think? I’m feeling pretty good outside of the one incision. It feel like a burning/pulling when I’m up too much. I start puréed stage on Friday and for some reason I’m overwhelmed with what is allowed or not. I’m reading so many mixed info and my dr’s handouts are no better! Lol
