Michele 2021 25 Posted April 17, 2021 I’m starting my 10-day pre-op diet tomorrow and was given a worksheet to eat only specific foods during this time frame... it seems very limiting they don’t list sugar free Jello or popsicles but allow certain canned fruits. They also allow for chicken but no fish. Were others pre-op diets similar? I know this diet was created to shrink the liver and stomach prior to surgery but was just curious to hear others experiences...and to see if anyone has any advice. I feel that the next 10’ days will be very challenging!
catwoman7 11,220 Posted April 18, 2021 they're all different. Mine was 4-5 Protein Shakes a day, plus Clear Liquids (which included sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles). I could also have 1 C of broth and 1 C of V8 or Tomato juice a day. Be glad you can have fruit, chicken, and fish -- I probably would have killed for that!! ChunkyCali 51 Posted April 18, 2021 (edited) I start mine on Wednesday. Mine is two weeks. First week I get one pack of oatmeal then 6 servings of liquid (protein drinks, soups). Second week, no oatmeal, just the liquids. I can add in a light greek yogurt and some Jello if needed. Sadly no veges for me. Not sure how I'm going to manage!
