Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

Recommended Posts

I bought my first pair of jeans, or any sort of pants that button and zip, since college a month or so ago. I still hate how they look, because all the weight I have left to lose seems to have just melted generally down but it's something.

And I'll get to do the jeans shopping again soon, because they're saggy baggy now.

Back when I wore jeans last, the style was ultra-low rise with a flared leg. I'm really digging the high-waisted skinny style. It's like a hug from your ankles to your ribs, like those squeezing thundershirts that they put on dogs afraid of thunderstorms.

Things shift around once you reach maintenance, and it no longer hurts to sit.

I wish that was the case for me. I’m 2.5 years out and reached my goal about 6 months after surgery. Still kills my tailbone when I sit. It’s never good, but on my 15 hour flight this week, not even a pillow helped. Not complaining though. Happy not to have the big tush anymore!

I'm only 18 days out, down 24 lbs since first going to surgeon...I usually put lotion on my legs and feet every night and last night I realized that even though there is still some surgery discomfort from incisions, I could put my foot in my lap and could play with my toes without issue! This is a game changer because for a long time now I have been paying for mani/pedis mostly bc it is painful to reach my toes as I have major back problems but just the little weight I've lost so far makes it not hurt to get to my feet!!!!

It may be a while before I can do my own pedicures but I was just so surprised ;)

That was a real pain in the butt haha but luckily it will stop hurting after a while. This means you are on the right track lol

The only way I could ever put my foot in my lap would require my cutting it off (My knees are wrecked so it's been years since I've even been able to cross my legs, never mind performing that kind of contortionist voodoo!)

Bwaahhaaaa now that made me laugh ( with you not at you) especially being ftt try on New Orleans myself I love the voodoo reference 😍

I have considered myself lucky to never have had serious issues with my knees as I’ve watched several family members suffer and struggle with just basic daily activities from them, as you can imagine they are also obese. About a month before I started the process of getting my surgery in late June early July my one knee started hurting and it would feel better if I stayed off it but that’s a hard thing to do! It really just cemented my decision to go with surgery.

Today, I was able to do a hike at 14, 265 ft. on the top of Mt. Evans in Colorado and not be completely out of breath or have muscle fatigue. Here's a couple of pictures from the summit. 20230818_130138.jpg 20230818_122207.jpg

I LOVE the high rise trends right now. Conceals the apron of my weight loss. I tend to go for the baggy high rise though. I like that loose pants are a choice now.

I definitely have lost the padding around my tail bone. I find sitting at an angle helps when I can. Straight back sitting can be miserable and for long car rides I have a pillow. It does get better though. You either learn how to sit or maybe it's getting better. After a long day I can feel my tailbone when I lay down.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
