Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

For example, moving my seat forward. Even being 400+lbs my belly never touched the steering wheel. I am 6ft tall. I assumed my seat was moved back because of my height, but as I lost weight I noticed I needed to move my seat forward. I guess less back/butt fat allows me to sit further back in the seat which makes me further away from the steering wheel.

OMG I am doing this too and didn't even register it as a NSV - just thought 'why have I been sitting so far back before?' and moving the seat gradually forward! Also tall although not quite as tall as you kcuster83. :93_punch:

Scooting forward on the couch before getting up, like to the edge and then standing up. I just always did it, never realized it was because I was fat but just thought it was normal. Never paid attention if anyone else got up like that. But, like a week ago I noticed that I just got up. From my normal sitting position, did not scoot to the edge of the couch first. Then, i noticed it and was like UHHH what just happened. It was not intentional it just happened and surprised me. So then i started paying attention if my thinner friends got up the same way and they do. So, another "I didn't know it was because I was fat" NSV!

I remember the first time I noticed not scooting to the edge of the couch before standing... it was amazing! Around that time I noticed I was just moving better in general, less grunting and waaaay less complaining from my body.

(Someone may have posted this before, if so, I apoligize..) My steering wheel is no longer touching my tummy. I am rather short, so I always have my seat forward, usually as far as it will go. And it was rubbing my tummy. Now it isn't!
This is great! I posted something similar after my surgery a couple years ago. I'm also short and it's wonderful not having thr steering wheel dig into my stomach. Congratulations!!!

I notice when I am sitting and bend over, kind of like to scratch my ankle or even tie my shoes I just bend. I don't spread my legs to make room for my stomach fat. I can bend completely in half with my upper body flat to my lap.

Before, I didn't even have a lap. haha

Forreal, I think the biggest thing I want out of WLS is a lap for a cat to sit in. Currently, when I go to an animal shelter, the super snuggly cats will look at me and be like "okay, I guess I'll make do" and climb up on my shoulders/chest/upper stomach as a sort of last resort, but they always look up at me like "ok, seriously, this lap is not the correct shape human, let's work on this."

But the cats that will sit in an available lap, but don't need it will just pass me up and that breaks my cat lady heart.

This was one of my happiest moments after surgery. I had no lap and had to bend to the side to pick stuff up because of how big my stomach was. Now I can just bed right over, even in the car!
Isn't that a great feeling? Congratulations!

Our house is in a culdesac at the bottom of a street that is about a half mile long, and we live at the bottom of that street down the hill, which is very steep the whole way up. It is a HUGE hill. I never could walk even partially up that hill without having an asthma attack or having to stop to try to catch my breath a million times. My son started school yesterday and I made a goal to walk every morning after I drop him off. I have wanted to conquer that hill for so long. Most people that walk in our neighborhood never go on that hill because of how steep it is, even the really fit people. Our culdesac is very quiet as a result lol. I didn't get to walk yesterday, so I started today. I walked completely up that steep half mile hill without stopping and was able to keep going around the rest of the subdivision, which is fairly flat compared to our hill. I can't believe I can do this now!
It feels so good to not have my weight holding me back anymore!

Eating a cookie may not sound like a NSV, but two days I ate one Girl Scout thin mint cookie. Not one box. Not one row. Just one cookie! It was my first one post surgery 1.5 years ago. Trying to make sure it’s not a slippery slope, but leaving the rest in the fridge for my family. I savored every bite of the ONE I had.

I felt so guilty when my son was a baby because I had no lap to hold him on. He's 11 now and for the first time in his life he can sit on my lap. But now he's about as tall as me and doesn't really want to be held. Lol

My non-scale goal was to be able to work with special needs students in public school. It requires lifting and chasing, so even with credentials earned during shut down, no one would hire me. I got the job. I’m loving every minute of it!

Pre-surgery, I bought a second-hand 90s leather jacket and tucked it away for myself for when I finally reached a size US8 (AU12). Tried it on today and it's a perfect fit. It's amazing that this day is finally here! It's the jacket of my dreams and you bet I'm gonna wear it out today. 😎

Weird nsv as of late. I used to be a size 11 in women's shoes at target. I recently bought a new pair of sneakers from target and had to get a 10. Now that I'm wearing them they're actually too loose and I could've went down to a 9 or 9.5. I didn't realize your feet get smaller when losing lbs.

I guess it depends how chubby your feet are to start. I used to wear wide shoes and now wear regular width but the size is still the same.

PS: I WISH my feet would shrink- THEY ARE SO BIG! I hate it. I can never find cute shoes. haha

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
