Chantrella 125 Posted April 15, 2021 Hello, I had surgery 3/3( gastric bypass) then bowel obstruction surgery on 3/12( surgeon obstructed my bowels during the first surgery). Yesterday I made 6 weeks and I’ve been good with my food no vomiting but I measure everything and I learned yesterday when my nose starts to run stop eating( lol). The only meats I’ve tried so far is chicken and salmon. I’m terrified of eggs( I’ve heard horror stories). I’m still working on getting my Fluid in I literally sip all day in between meals and still can’t get to 64oz. Maybe tomorrow I’ll start waking up at 5:30am. I’ve lost 44 pounds since surgery and 54 all together. This week I hit a stal 😞 probably because I’ve been housebound from all the rain. I’m still working on getting Protein and calories up it’s hard when you are not hungry 😞. I hope everyone is doing great on their journey and I would love to hear where others stand ❤️. 6 1 chiquitatummy, SummerTimeGirl, Luna Girl and 4 others reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted April 15, 2021 a lot of people are sensitive to eggs after surgery, but they can eventually eat them again without incident. I never had an issue with them, though, even from the start, so it's not universal. 1 Chantrella reacted to this
Betty1971 386 Posted April 15, 2021 I am at almost 5 months post VSG and eggs are a staple in my day. I start out my day with a scrambled egg with a little goat cheese and a spoon of salsa on it (sounds gross but I love it) and I don't miss a day!! I have never been a Breakfast person or an egg person but I don't start a day out without one and I have no issues. The one odd thing with me is when I eat a dense meat, like steak, I get the hiccups!! It is the strangest thing but if I eat a dense Protein I get the stinking hiccups!!!! Everyones body reacts differently I guess!!! I used to love seafood of all types now just the smell of it and I run the other way! Good luck and don't let the stalls get you down just stick to your program, when your body adjusts it will start to go down again 1 Chantrella reacted to this

Glad to hear you are on the mend and able to get food in without issues. I had VSG on 2/23, so far I've lost 45 pounds. I recently moved to soft foods which seems like the wild west of foods to me since there is so many more options. So far I had my first stall this month which has messed with my head a bit, but I'm hanging in there trusting that sticking strictly to my program will keep the weight loss coming. I'm getting antsy to get some new clothes (and will need new bras soon - the girls are going!) but want to wait until I lose another 15 pounds or so. 1 Chantrella reacted to this
ShoppGirl 5,013 Posted April 18, 2021 I had my surgery 3/9 so I didn’t think I’d have anything to offer but I never read the horror stories about the eggs and they were on my puréed food list and I just tried them and had no issues either. I guess it’s like everything else, Everyone is different. Just wanted to be a non horror story to help you build up guts to try them someday. Lol
