What does everyone drink? Most of the sugar free stuff taste absolutely horrible. I hate that fake sugar taste I get from the low sugar varieties. What has everyone found that's not completely void of flavor? I know that taste buds are different but it has to be some stuff out there I'm not aware of.

I don't mind fake sugar, but my primary beverage is tap Water. You could try unsweetened iced tea. I brew mint or peach flavored herbal tea and then cool it in a pitcher in my fridge for caffeine free iced tea.

You could squeeze a lemon, lime, or orange wedge into water for a drink.

You could drink coffee or tea, Decaf if your surgeon prefers it.

You could drink fairlife high Protein milk

You could use ReaLemon or Realime in water or tea.

You could put a pitcher with cucumber slices and or mint leaves and keep it in the fridge.

I could go on. Hope some of these appeal!

Also, I feel your pain. I was a Coke Zero fiend until a few month ago, but when I decided to have surgery, I quit cold turkey. I didn't think I'd be able to, but then after a month I tried a soda again and I didn't even like it much!

It's terrifying to make real change but I hope it's worth it! (I haven't had my surgery yet... still jumping through hoops)

4C, Crystal Light, Gatorade Zero. Walmart has the "Great Value" brand of crystal light and it's really good! My favorite flavor is strawberry watermelon.

I love the Starburst sugar-free drink mixes -- especially the "all pink" flavor (like a strawberry Starburst -- my favorite!).

I've been into warm beverages lately. I don't like coffee, but I found this product called Crio Bru that is roasted cacao Beans that you brew like coffee. It's amazing! I love drinking that with a little almond milk and Jordan's Skinny Syrup. I'm drinking some right now with Irish Cream Skinny Syrup and it's delicious.

I'm also loving tea with Skinny Syrup. My current favorite is Tazo pumpkin spice chai with almond milk and caramel pecan Skinny Syrup. I just signed up for a tea subscription box so I can try some other teas.

Water, H20, dihydrogen monoxide, liquor amnii, with an occasional twist of lemon......haha

I like to switch it up a bit and live dangerously.

If I am feeling really wild and crazy I will splurge and drink a diet peach Snapple, those are my absolute favorite!!!!

But I always go back to water, ice cold water.

I'm one of those that has always hated drinking Water unless I'm working out or something. I can't drink milk. And can't drink tea or coffee. Before surgery, loved fruit juices and Gatorade. Wasn't that big on Soda so I don't miss that. What I do miss is stuff that tastes normal. Artificial sweeteners are just nasty. They all give me that horrible aftertaste. I have a few beverages that I've grown to like but I know if this keeps up, I'll get sick of those.

I used to HATE Water, I was a true diet cokeaholic. Now I am a wateraholic. I drink it around the clock. I actually enjoy it, it surprises me. I am a bit of a water snob but I love water....I have found super cold water out of glass bottles is my favorite. Sounds super silly but it works for me. It started with a glass bottle of VOSS water that was super overpriced.....

Now we have a KANGEN water machine and do the reverse osmosis thing and I drink about a gallon of water a day out of a glass hydro bottle on ice :)

I suggest just trying to switch up the water a bit, after surgery your tastes do change a bit ;) good luck!!!!

I agree, I much prefer my water cold, and I drink much more now that I'm not drinking a ton of soda. However, since I only have a small fridge/freezer, I don't have a way to store ice or big bottles of water, and the water in my tap isn't very cold. I will usually keep a refillable bottle of water on my desk when I'm working and also a glass of a beverage I prefer (like 5 calorie juice or diet iced tea) and alternate them. I also have a small bottle of water I bought and I refill it and put it back in the fridge. My mouth is always dry from meds, so have to drink all day... might as well be water!

Try Hint Water.

I'm a Crystal Light Iced Tea (or the store brands) fiend. It's what I drink all day, every day.

I also like Twinnings Cold Infusions. I hated the Biegelow Cold infusions.

Hint amazingly is hard to find where I live. Have to drive quite a bit to get it. I do drink it when I can find it.

That's too bad. It doesn't go bad, so maybe you can make a trip and buy a whole bunch to stock up for a few weeks/months?

Ocean Spray Diet 5 is delicious - it comes in several flavors, but to me, the ruby red (grapefruit) is the best!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
