Nanagrrl3 24 Posted April 14, 2021 I still have low energy and I’m a bit lazy (thanks depression!) but working out and exercising has ALWAYS made me nauseous before surgery. I tried googling to see what it might be but nothing has helped. Anyways I’m trying to tone my body now, I told myself that this week I was going to start working out but I give up in 1 minute because I’m so winded. Anyone have any tips about the nausea and motivation? 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Jnfinney 527 Posted April 14, 2021 Not sure about the nausea, but for me making exercise part of my routine helped with motivation. If it’s part of my routine, I don’t even get to consider skipping it. In fact, skipping a workout kind of messed up my day after I made it part of my routine. I would pick the days, times, and type of exercise you plan to do and do it for every time you plan it. I would get up 2 hours early in the morning to get a workout in. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Jnfinney 527 Posted April 15, 2021 I completely understand, but start small so you don’t get overwhelmed. Start with 10 minutes of walking or some other exercise 3 times a week and you can increase from there. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Anyone have any tips about the nausea and motivation? I too had a hard time getting back in the gym around the end of week 6. First workout was probably 20 minutes...that was all I had but better than nothing. I was incredibly sore after that first workout. With Covid then surgery it had been year. Back in the gym now! Makes me feel so much better!! 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this

Lorey_a 19 Posted April 16, 2021 Not sure what you are doing when working out but don't set the bar too high. Try to start walking each day. Start with a 10-15 minute walk then the next day match it and the day after maybe add 5 more minutes to the walk. I started this way and can now walk 20-30+ minutes at a time without being too winded. Let yourself build into it. Try walking listening to music or a good audio book. If you have the room in your home and don't want to walk outside yet, consider the purchase of a treadmill. You can watch TV and walk:0 Just a few thoughts and whatever you do - don't get down on yourself. 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this

I keep mine next to the bed which is in the way everytime I get up but I deal with it. Then when I am cleaning up the house and want it to look nice I can just roll it under the bed. If I weren’t too lazy I could do this daily but I’d rather step over it. Lol 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this

First time back was 20 minutes...give it a shot but don't try to do too much. Something is better than nothing. 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this

XtinaDoesIt 202 Posted April 17, 2021 You could make a big expensive purchase like me (#peleton), and feel forced to workout because you are still paying for it 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this
