Calories? Carbs?

Recommended Posts

Ok fellow bandsters...I need help. I'm about 7 weeks post op and have had one fill. It has helped a lil but not enough so I'm going back in but...I have a question...What is everybody doing for their calorie and carb tracking? I hear everybody say low calorie low carb and my surgeon said the same thing. But to everyone low calorie low carb is different. I want to get an idea from those of us who have the band and are making it work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!!!

I'm not banded yet, but my DH was 2 years ago. He eats his Protein and low carb (non starchy) veggies first. He only has starchy and sugary things occasionally and then he usually just tastes them. His favorite snack is peanuts. Yuck.

I'm sticking with whole foods. It's not easy I tell ya. I can have a few cheat meals a week. Anyways I don't really have to count calories or carbs. Mostly what I eat is Protein, veggies and fruit anyways. You can really eat as many fruits and veggies you want and your not going to gain weight (that's without Salad Dressing or dip mind u..lol) Anyways, good luck. If your really interested in tracking yourself I heard the bodybugg is great. Also there's some online sites for free I think one is FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal. I did that a long time ago. Seemed pretty easy.

I dont really count either, I stick with organic, healthy fresh food.

I eat carbs but I try to avoid white sugary ones - white bread, rolls, cakes, Cookies, pancakes, white rice and Pasta etc.

But I eat plenty of wholegrain Pasta, cereals, oatmeal, brown rice, fruit, etc.

I guess you'd call my diet low GI - I'm not a fan of high Protein, I really dont believe the research and claims supporting that high Protein (as opposed to normal levels of protein, I know protein is important) and I choose not to sacrifice my kidney or bowel health on the off chance that diets like Atkins may actually be proven one day. So yeah, high fibre, low GI, moderate protein and carb levels are pretty much what I eat. Sugar, white flour, you dont need it, and those foods once you start eating them, are hard to stop!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
