Lorey_a 19 Posted March 31, 2021 I am having my Sleeve surgery tomorrow and wanted to know what the length of your hospital stay was following surgery? I was told by the Surgical Nurse that called me today that some people go home the same day. The Medical doctor that did my clearance two weeks ago stated one night and my surgeon said one to two nights. Obviously its based on any complications that may arise but just curious if you don't mind sharing. Thank you!

Crick 146 Posted March 31, 2021 I ended up staying a second night - my white blood cell count wasn’t where the doctor wanted it and she preferred me to stay another night to make sure it came back to a good level. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for COVID, I would have gone home, but the thought of having an issue and having to come back to an ER made me stay. For the record, I felt just fine and really had very little pain - but I was up and walking as soon as possible. The count was back to a normal level the next morning and I was home by 10 am. Creekimp13 5,840 Posted March 31, 2021 My surgery was at 8am, I left the hospital the next day at around 10am. I would have LOVED to have gone home the same day, and I could have safely....but my doctor required everyone to spend the night. I think most people are more comfortable staying a day or two. ShoppGirl 5,024 Posted March 31, 2021 My team told me probably two nights but they let me go home after one. I had little pain and was getting fluids down as expected for that point and urinating fine. I ended up having to go back as outpatient to get two bags of fluids though cause of signs of dehydration. Allie Still 18 Posted March 31, 2021 I had my sleeve done at 8:30 AM and was on my way home around 6 PM the same day! I think it all depends on your surgeon and how well you tolerate the anesthesia and your recovery!! good luck!!!

Was 329 at time of surgery and was 321 today. Never thought I'd be so excited for pureed foods and baby food. We got this. 1 bufbills reacted to this
ColoRad Gal 24 Posted April 1, 2021 I had surgery at 7:30 am on the 22 nd and stayed until the 24 th. I had so much swelling my Water wouldn’t pass. It was upsetting bc I wanted to be out the night of surgery. But it was something I couldn’t control.
