Nanagrrl3 24 Posted March 30, 2021 Today is my fourth week out and my NUT says that I am cleared for a regular diet as long as I can tolerate soft foods which I can. I told her that I ate a piece of baked chicken with the skin on it by mistake, as She says to stay away from the skin because it’s high in fat and calories. But is there any chance that I would get a leak because I ate the skin? I know I should probably ask my surgeon but I’d just like some input from anyone, because I’ve read that someone ate an apple and granola at three weeks out and it gave them a leak. kellym1220 474 Posted March 30, 2021 I don't think chicken skin would cause a leak...unless it was SUPER crispy (and really, not even then!) I think I had a KFC chicken breast at about 4 weeks, and while my stomach was upset, it didn't cause a leak! 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this

catwoman7 11,220 Posted March 30, 2021 no - chicken skin wouldn't give you a leak. Plus you're probably beyond the leak stage at this point - those usually occur pretty quickly after surgery. 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this

I was sleeved in beginning of July and by August I was walking an orchard for exercise and picking peaches n Apples by September 1 and I lived on them that was my favorite thing granted it took me two day to finish an apple but I never got a leek you just make sure you chew good n listen to your pouch it will tell you if it doesn’t like something. Trust me when it happens you won’t do it again lol 1 Nanagrrl3 reacted to this
