shultz 3 Posted March 15, 2021 Hi all - going to be starting my pre-op diet. The directions have a list of vegetables, but it doesn't say anything about raw vs cooked or using spices or oil to cook them in? Help?
catwoman7 11,220 Posted March 15, 2021 I wasn't allowed to eat any solid food at all during my pre-op, so not sure - but I would think since it's pre-op, it wouldn't really matter if they were raw or cooked (after surgery, you can do cooked vegetables fairly quickly, but you have to wait awhile to start on raw). Spices shouldn't be a problem. I don't know about oil - it's very caloric, but if your eating pre-op eating plan allows it, then...it allows it. I'd check with your clinic if you can. WishMeSmaller 1,274 Posted March 15, 2021 My pre-op included a veggie list. Spices and no fat/sugar Condiments were acceptable. Raw and cooked were fine. I ate a lot of lettuce with salt, pepper, and vinegar. Same with cucumbers. Good luck!
