You can’t stop it unfortunately. Your natural Hair loss cycle has been accelerated as a result of the shock to your body (surgery, reduced calories, change of diet, etc.).

As what usually happens as you shed hair new hair is growing. It’s just your new hair is growing at it’s usual rate & it’s not as noticeable as the loss.

It will slow & revert to your usual rate of loss usually after about 3 months +/-. It’s just hard to see those clumps of hair. Best advice is not to stress too much about it if you can. Stress will only make it worse.

Some people will say Biotin or other supplements helped but they don’t. The hair that is shedding is already dead. (All the exposed hair on your head is dead.) The supplements may only help your new growth.

A lot of us cut our hair so the new growth didn’t have as long to grow to be even with the rest of our hair.

You may notice a change in texture too which is from the anaesthetic. You have to wait for that to grow out.

Pray, Biotin, Keratin, Finasteride, Minoxidil, Derma Roller, Iron if Doc says OK.

not much you can do about it other than keep on top of your Protein and supplements so it doesn't get any worse than it would otherwise. Mine lasted about three months. Fortunately, I didn't lose enough for others to notice.

here's an article about it:

I freaked out when I was losing my hair. I was losing clumps of it at a time, and would literally cry in the shower. I even resorted to measuring it. I was losing approx. 3-4 grams every time I washed it (every 4 days). It happened in months 3-6.

Now I am almost 7 months out, and happy to say that I am not losing anymore. I know it will take a while for it grow back, but that is ok as long as I am not losing.

My nutritionist recommended that I start taking Flaxseed Oil 1,000 mg a day, and increase my Protein. It worked! She also told me that none of the commercial products work.

Im in month 4, yep, it’s def more Hair loss than normal, but it’s not like I have bald Patches or anything. I have long hair and if it gets super bad I’d cut it but for now it’s just kind of annoying every time I run my hands through my hair to have multiple strands there. Like other posters said, it comes back, and generally not noticeable to anyone but you.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
