Do you add the yogurt to your oatmeal? On my sample menus I have a lot of “add a scoop of unflavored Protein powder” for foods like oatmeal, cottage cheese, ricotta, mashed potatoes etc and I tried it once. Just once. 🤮 I think the menu creators in my program maybe have not tried unflavored Protein Powder in their foods. So gross!

glad for the forum so we can help each other. 🙂

No I hv not tried using unflavored protein to anything.. I do mix my yogurt w my Protein Drink w some fruit. That usually makes 3 8ozs cups. &that's usually my meals for the day w my Water. I don't like mash potatoes. i do like cottage cheese & string cheese. The powder Protein Drinks are grainy but I'll tolerate it.

I hv NOT put anything in my oatmeal besides vanilla Protein Shake. I'm tryna tolerate the powders but they r kinda grainy. I love cottage cheese but not so much ricotta &mash potatoes. I DO put the powders in yogurt to make a smoothie along w some fruit. This dr i hv is a miserable s.o.b. he's just so negative everything i come in & it's only bn twice.... uuuugh... he gets to me then my anxiety flares up.

Does anyone knows how long u hv to keep seeing ur surgeon b4 u can stop?! #ijs. Smh

Sorry your surgeon is so awful. I’ve only met mine once and that was pre-op. I was supposed to see him at 3 weeks but he had a family emergency. I think I see him again at 9 weeks. I’ve had doctors that I didn’t vibe well with before and it sucked.

Lol yeah, I’d want to know when to stop seeing that kind of doc too! Just keep on doing your thing and regardless of the buttheads, you’ll succeed. Had to lol about the kid comment. Completely understand. Choose your battles. You got this!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
