Incredibleshrinkiningkiley 23 Posted June 5, 2021 Sounds like you are just like me! I’m almost at week 6. I won’t be able to do any soft veggies until next month. My nutritionist did say soft fruit is OK if you absolutely need it for BMs. That’s why I felt ok eating the strawberry. It’s the lack of carbs that’s the issue for me and carbs are healthy and good in moderation. As for the bms I take 2 stool softeners in the morning with my morning meds and a Fiber chewable(they make sugar free ones) and I am regular every morning. And my program advises against straws but I need one to get my Water intake in. I did a ton of research on them And the non use of straws is kind of a myth based on studies the straw doesn’t do much except very early on after surgery and it has to do with air and gas. Many people use them and are fine.
Blueslily 94 Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) Hello April Sleevers, How's everyone doing? During the past week, I had my first experience with dizziness. The first time I just figured I moved too quickly and didn't really associate it with WLS. But, when it happened again a week later and was in two settings, I figured it out. Spent the weekend increasing Water intake. I meet with my team tomorrow. I'm ok. Just a couple brief moments mainly when transitioning quickly in bed. Anyone have any exciting non-scale victories lately? Yesterday I put on clothes for work and looked like a clown because it was falling all off me, lol. That was exciting 🙂 I hit my first stall last week. But, probably my fault due to not getting in all my water the past couple weeks while at work. Still working on increasing water intake during busy days at work. Water at home is easy. At work, I'm just in go, go, go mode. Ugh. I will keep working on it. Im Doing great and a lot better with water to be honest. This week I really started to work out and push myself to work out. I’m trying my hardest to stay off the scale because I seem to go between 5 pounds for the past 2 weeks which I’m assuming has to do with muscles. I’m feeling so good since I’m back to yoga and working out. Still can’t eat eggs and I’m finding it harder and harder to make meals because I still can’t have veggies and I’m so tired of the same old turkey meat or ham or soft chicken. Cherylanne22 27 Posted June 15, 2021 Today I reached 2 months post, doctor said I can start regular diet starting today, honestly I have been on a semi regular diet for a couple of weeks now. Mostly just alot of chicken and veggies. I am getting so good at chicken recipes I should write a book lol. I am in California and we are having a heat wave, so I'm trying to get some walking in early am, but seriously not a morning person, so pretty much settling for YouTube work outs. Wishing well to all. 1 TriciaC. reacted to this

Mind you I work out daily and I do a lot of strength training. Measurements are going down down down. 1 TriciaC. reacted to this

Any one else dealing with a long stall like this ? I truly feel your pain; it's been 2 1/2 weeks for me (post op since April 28) and it's happening a few pounds shy of "onederland" which is torturing me further. I have been exercising my butt off, too. It did coincide with my soft food phase which I am still doing. My common sense tells me that my digestive system must be trying to readjust. I also notice that my bms are much less frequent which tells me I probably need to do better with H2O intake and fiber. Are any of my observations something you can relate to? I wonder if I will ever get back to the rapid pace of my 1st month weight loss. 2 WanderingHeart and SH76 reacted to this

Lots of postings about similar experiences at that point on this site. 🙂
Blueslily 94 Posted June 26, 2021 Hello April Sleevers, We are getting ready to close out another month. How's everyone doing? Any great non-scale victories? This weekend, I might try on a few of my older clothes that I had tucked away and do some shopping in my own closet again this weekend. Some clothes that I wore to work recently were looking a bit frumpy. Still trying not to buy clothes. So, will dig around in the closet again this weekend to find some smaller sizes. 😃 Walking was better this week. Water intake got better recently, but then dipped down the past couple days again so increasing my water intake is a goal this weekend. How's everyone doing? Have a great weekend everyone! 1 tricialajr reacted to this
Blueslily 94 Posted June 26, 2021 Oh, wanted to say again that I'm still enjoying food costing a lot less. I totally buy smaller quantities for a week since portion sizes are smaller. Protein Drinks after the 2 month mark isn't that expensive either since I'm not drinking as many compared to the first few weeks post-surgery when we aren't eating real food. I only drink one Protein Drink a day and I don't use Protein Powder anymore so that expense is gone also. My dietitian wants me getting Protein from real food, and I usually meet my goals. So, overall, groceries and any prepared foods I do buy are definitely less expensive now than all the food I used to buy in a week before surgery. Woohoo!
