I’m only getting about 2 oz at a time down but definitely skipping meals and Snacks due to work craziness. I think maybe I just miss eating in general.. maybe this is the head hunger. I mean, I just want a dang taco lol

Oh, if you are skipping meals then it probably makes sense that you feel hunger at times versus it being a problem or you needing more calories. Like yesterday I hosted meetings at Noon and 1pm so lunch was late at 2pm and I could feel I was overdue. I wouldn't consider that a problem related to not eating enough calories. That's a problem related to me not staying on schedule. I knew I had those meetings and was supposed to eat around 11:30 so I wouldn't be eating lunch late, but I allowed myself to work through 11:30 instead of take care of myself by eating.

Dont get discouraged. For me, I knew that I would have to work hard at making my intake a priority when I got back to busy life at work. Sounds like something you can work on also. I know when I feel hunger, it's because I'm off schedule. It's about me. Please dont let that trick you into thinking you need to go off plan. Good luck.

Stomach does grumble a lot which used to be hunger but I know that’s a side effect so I wait for a more sustained feeling until I label it hunger. I do get hungry in between meals, usually three hours later. But it’s not as intense as I used to feel.

Hi I am very new to this forum. I had my gastric sleeve done on 15/apr/21

pre op weight :299 lbs

Current. Weight : 272 lbs.

weight loss 27 lbs

somehow I feel my weight loss is not as much as others who had surgery near when I had mine. The whole of last week I have lost less than 1 lb :(

Is anyone facing such an issue ? I am feeling so low now

If it makes you feel any better my good friend got surgery April 6 she has similar stats and she’s lost 24 lbs so far, and I had my surgery on April 27 and I’ve lost 14lbs since surgery. It took you a long time to gain the the weight and it’s gonna take a while for it to healthily come off. You are doing amazing! Your body is adjusting.

I had bypass on 4/15. I was 280 and lost 10 during the 5 days pre-op. After getting home from surgery I couldn’t stomach anything except Water so by the 27th I had lost 31. Since the 27th I have only lost 9 more pounds. I was stuck for almost two weeks. I feel your pain!

I think I’m going to try setting alarms on my phone so I don’t forget to eat or prioritize other things. I’m pretty discouraged on how weight loss has stalled the last couple weeks.

I am 5 weeks post op, and today I am having one of those days when I feel so hungry, I have had two Protein Shakes, a string cheese, and some mini pickles in 2 hours and still feel like I can eat more!

Wow! Would maybe some solid Protein help? Like 2 ounces of chicken breast if you can handle that at 5 weeks.

Yes, alarms! Good luck. I think Protein helps us lose weight also.

My surgery was April 6 .

starting weight was 218 on March 18.
surgery weight I was 209.

im now 190, I don’t feel like I’m losing weight fast enough, which is really discouraging because I’m really sticking to this diet.

Idk what your starting height and weight were but 28 pounds is a great start. Everyone is so much different. But even the veterans will tell you some were slow losers but they still eventually lost it all.

Has anyone had very bad chills upon waking up in the middle of the night. Had a whole body aches yesterday afternoon then woke up in the middle of the night just now with major chills. Not sure if this could be Keto flu or something else. Anyone have any similar symptoms

Keto flu is usually shortly after you start the keto diet, was 3 days into pre-op for me. Is it the actual flu?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
