I see a lot of people still getting nutrition from Protein Shakes. Which ones are you drinking because I am so over the Premier Protein ones. Someone said the Cookies and cream is good. I liked the boost I drank pre surgery but it only has 16g of Protein.

I did NOT like the cookie and cream one. Also, strawberry taste like soap to me. All the other ones taste fine. I bought one but I can't remember the name, to try, basically it was strawberry milk but with 20 something grams of Protein. It was delicious to me.

I think it's weird how different surgeons and practices have so many different way of doing things. For example, I didn't have a "purée" stage per se. I went from full liquids to soft foods. Puréed foods were included in the full liquid stage for me. After this I will go back to any foods. Well, low fat, low cal, low sugar of course.

Pre surgery I loved the Premier Protein shakes but after I HATE them!!! I have been drinking the Fairlife Core Power Elite shakes and they are SO YUMMY. They are not disgustingly sweet and taste so so good. They also have 42 G Protein in each bottle (14 oz)! I'm 2.5 months out and have half of one every morning for Breakfast and add in a little Fairlife skim milk for even more protein and make the shakes last longer! I really really love them!!!

I was reading this and it sounds exactly like what I have been saying. I thought at first I wrote it until it said 2.5 months out lol. I drank a Premiere last night because I really needed the protein and had been unable to drink them since before my surgery a month ago. I had to choke it down and then I felt sick after. I’m doing the fairlife also and love them. I’m experimenting with different ones. But that is a really good idea for the ones with 42 protein. It’s so full of calories. I had ordered some and then cancelled the order and ordered the 26g ones instead cuz there’s 90 less calories. I also ordered the 30g nutrition plan ones that have a little less calories and I found some in Walmart that are only 8 Oz bottles with 24g and only 130 calories so I bought a 4 ok of those to try. But fairlife is definitely the best tasting, hands down.

Have you ever tried mixing a bit of PB Fit in with vanilla Greek yogurt and dipping apples in it. Something else to look forward to trying if you like the apples with Peanut Butter taste.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I went from lsurgery to soft foods. Mostly Protein Shakes for fear but I could eat regular foods but very small amounts, and felt fine.
this is a took to help lose weight not a magic solution.

Can you eat the apples without the skin?

I think you meant to ask flounder that but if so, they have them already peeled at Walmart now I noticed the other day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
