victoriaciminelli111 43 Posted March 11, 2021 Thank you he actually passed away four months after his gastric sleeve from complications of the surgery. But he was in rough shape pre op. 2 Somenelsons and DaisyAndSunshine reacted to this

David_L 68 Posted March 11, 2021 To give my boys the gift of being a potential "Grandpa" to their future children, should they decide to have them. It's something they didn't have much have in their lives. I also want to enjoy "golden" years in a healthy way with the wife. I also want to break free from the prison cell of nearly 350lbs. We're flying to Savannah in a couple months and for the first time in a long time, I am not too concerned about fitting in the airplane seat. 6 SummerTimeGirl, Julierp3, Somenelsons and 3 others reacted to this
GFitz 10 Posted March 11, 2021 When I turned 45 this year I realized that my weight was limiting my ability to do the things I want to do. Life is short and I want to live my life to the fullest. Aside from being overweight I am healthy, but I know if I stay as overweight as I am, that won't be the case for very long. 6 1 newyorklady20, SummerTimeGirl, Starwarsandcupcakes and 4 others reacted to this
GaGirlGettingHealthy 98 Posted March 11, 2021 I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in December. For me it was the straw. I suffer from PCOS so my weight has always been an issue. I am also going to be a grandmother in April which was my secondary reason. I knew if I didn't do something, I would not be here long term and my health would decline. 4 WorldCruiser, SummerTimeGirl, Starwarsandcupcakes and 1 other reacted to this
LoveSimcha 97 Posted March 11, 2021 I couldn't play with my kids and I realized my inability to move was affecting their weight as well - I want to be here for the day they announce they are getting married. To address my health issues - diabetes, high blood pressure and severe bank pain 5 Reddpanda, Starwarsandcupcakes, 2021NewMe and 2 others reacted to this
chiquitatummy 338 Posted March 11, 2021 (edited) To prevent future disease and illness. I was obese and generally healthy but knew I was on the path (like many of my family members) to diabetes and high blood pressure. Watching my mom suffer with her health now is a big motivator for me to do something to prevent being in the place she is in another 15-20 years. Realizing that my weight put me at high risk for Covid was another wake-up call for me. I was also tired of feeling physically uncomfortable in my body (achy back, feet, hips, etc) and having no energy. I missed doing the things I used to do like hiking, rollerblading, and bike riding. I'd stopped doing them when I got heavy enough that it was painful and physically uncomfortable to be active. I'm only two weeks and a couple days out from surgery and already I can walk without discomfort around my neighborhood. My energy may still be low, but my back and feet don't hurt! It feels amazing!!! I'm remembering how much I used to enjoy being physically active. Creekimp13 5,840 Posted March 11, 2021 I did NOT want diabetes and my A1C was creeping up with my fasting glucose. Three years prediabetic and the numbers just kept getting worse. My A1C is 5.0% now. Well into normal. I am so glad I dodged diabetes. Two brothers have it. My legs were starting to swell with pitted edema...bad. Tops of my feet started to swell up, too. My physical endurance was awful. My back hurt so bad just doing a regular shopping trip that I had to find a place to sit down halfway through. I felt old and disabled. I'm riding horses huntseat and jumping again. I can walk several miles with no issues. I'm riding my bike with my dog again. At almost 49...I feel younger than I have since I was 30:) 7 1 james2021, pk88, Wahinebythesea and 5 others reacted to this
SummerTimeGirl 582 Posted March 12, 2021 Finally decided to get it done due to...........High BP, borderline Type 2 Diabetic for years now, tired of being out of breath, my lower back hurting, not being able to do certain activities because I am worried about weight limits, etc. Of course it will be nice to be able to shop in normal stores for clothes again and wear normal clothes as well. So yeah, hoping a lot of positive things come of this. 3 WorldCruiser, james2021 and Starwarsandcupcakes reacted to this
