100 lbs. I’m hoping i could do it. They say you lose very slow with a revision. Some people don’t lose at all. Staying hopeful.

You got this, one thing is for sure with the revision we are more determined than ever before so just keep focused on your goal follow the steps and you’ll get to where you want to go. I’d be looking to hear your success story of losing the 100lbs became coincidentally that is my goal as well and I believe with exercise and following the plan we got this. Wishing you well

I am a little over 4 months out from my revision and close to goal. At first I was scared that the revision wasn't going to work because it didn't feel like I had the same restrictions as I did with the sleeve and I am able to eat things I couldn't with the sleeve> With the sleeve I felt more restriction but as I heal more I feel it more and things have been moving along great and I am pleased with my weight loss. It is slower as I am so close to goal (only about 4 more to go) and I had my revision per reflux. So happy to have the reflux and GERD cured and am having no problems whatsoever in that area. I am happy with my revision and growing to love it more every day! I still walk 30 minutes and log my food daily. I focus on maintaining Water and Protein levels as I notice this is what makes the scale move for me! Good luck! You are going to do great!

I also had the revision for GERD, Gastritis and Esophagitis and I'm very happy that all that has been resolved. But I'm also very happy with the weight loss. As you can see below, I gained almost all my initial weight that I had lost after the sleeve. I felt like a complete failure and a fool for having thrown away my chance at a normal weight. I know this revision is my second chance to do it right and learn from my mistakes.

Here are my stats over my 6 year journey.

Highest weight May 2012 - 222 lbs.

Gastric sleeve surgery weight November 2014 - 212 lbs.

Lowest weight post sleeve May 2015 - 151 post op 6 months (61 lbs. lost)

Highest weight prior to revision surgery January 2019 - 205 lbs. (54 lbs. gained)

Weight day of revision surgery October 2020 - 185 lbs.

Current weight March 2021 (5 months post op) - 138 lbs. (47 lbs. lost)

I hope that I never have to add a line that says I've gained weight back again!!!!

Good luck on your journey!!!!

I was just revised from the sleeve to the bypass on the 23rd and my pain is minimal. Doing my best to get fluids in. I gained 10 pounds during my hospital stay so hoping that will come off pretty fast. I haven't had any incidences of reflux so I'm super happy about that.

Had my revision on March 29th and it was a much longer surgery than we had anticipated .. took about 5 or 6 hrs but everything turned out okay.. I stayed an extra day in the Hospital BC of how tired I was.. I could barely sip anything. Recovery at home went well. I did have A LOT of pain but that was probably due to the additional work they had to do and the length of surgery..I had more scarring and my sleeve was bigger than they thought..I am feeling great now..down 18lbs, no heartburn, Gerd or acid relux. It is slower this time around but I was also much bigger with my first surgery.

Hw ever:400

Day of Sleeve surgery:350

Lw post op 1-2yrs: 230

Hw prior to revision: 290

Day of revision surgery: 278

1st day Post op: 288

Cw :260

Hello...I use saw your note on here, its old but thought, what the heck going to write anyhow. Your story is so much the same as mine.

I started off with the Lapland, quite some time ago, lost some, not a huge amt. It was such a hard live with, couldn't seem to get the right fill, I spent alot of time throwing up.....had that taken out,got the sleeve, lost a little not a huge about, think I got down to maybe 223, then gained wt. Back..so tried to be real good for awhile My dr. Says the only thing now is the Loop Duodenal Switch...I did all the nutrition appt.s, the trainer, the psyche evaluation, which I ended up paying out of pocket, then I've been waiting and waiting and noone called, then they called the other day and say its been so long (their fault not mine, they had everything ) i wasn't happy but went, so I'm lingering at 260 myself. Now according to her they are suppose to submit it to my insurance and then will set up appt. to make a date. They better I called iurance an it us covered, and he said it takes about 14 days, maybe quicker.if not I will be bugging both of them.

I bet by now you have everything done. If you don't mind would love o hear from me either by Facebook messaging me DonnaRobbinsSmith. Or by email Mammysm@aol.com. thx for listening. Donna

I am hoping ins approves the revision from sleeve to bypass. I have severe GERD and also a hiatal hernia. When I had the endoscopy done in Nov 2019 there was also a stricture and ulcer. The prescription PPI worked until it didn't, he upped it to twice a day and it worked until 3 months ago. Now I'm back to needing Tums as well as the prescription almost daily. I like your post. I only have a regain of 35 lbs, so losing that would just be the icing on the cake. If I can get rid of the reflux I'll be so happy. I can't imagine doing this for the rest of my life! Tell me, what things can you eat that you couldn't after sleeve surgery and what about dumping. The bariatric surgeon I met with last week said they consider it a good side effect to help patients know what to be careful of or avoid altogether. Good luck!!!

How does bypass compare to sleeve? Have you or are you learning what causes dumping? If I have revision surgery it will be due to severe GERD that has developed since sleeve surgery. I've been dealing with it for about seven years. I'm trying to educate myself as much as possible on RNY.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
