NyankeesY01 0 Posted March 3, 2021 I’m in the early stages of the process. I’ve done all the requirements, I meet with the surgeon on April 5th, probably get scheduled then. My question is, does everyone end up with lots of extra skin? I’ve seen some pictures of lots of extra skin. I was big as a kid then lost over 100lbs into my 20s and I don’t remember having a lot of extra skin, yea some but not like pictures I’ve seen. I’m worried about this. catwoman7 11,220 Posted March 4, 2021 a lot of people really worry about loose skin (I did too when I was pre-op and early post-op), but I think most of us "vets" will tell you that in the grand scheme of things, it ends up being a pretty minor thing. For most of us, it's easy to hide in clothes, so you'll be the only one who'll know it's there, and I think all of us would take the loose skin any day of the week over being morbidly obese again. It's a small price to pay. how much you have depends on how obese you are, how much you lose, how long you were obese, how old you are, etc. If you have 100 or more lbs to lose, though, you will probably be left with some. That skin would have stretched out to the point where it really can't bounce back anymore. At my lowest, I lost 235 lbs (I've since gained about 20 back). I've since had my loose skin removed, but here I am BEFORE I had it removed. See any? It's there - a ton of it! 1 Arabesque reacted to this

megosterby@gmail.com 1 Posted March 4, 2021 I swam daily after my surgery and never had any loose skin problems even though I lost over 100 lbs. in 9 months. I do still have some tummy fat and a crease in it, but I don't worry about it. It's not seen by anybody but me.
