lindata 1 Posted July 2, 2008 Isn't it funny how your weight loss makes you see other people differently? I look in the mirror and I just look like me, but then I can look at someone else and realize that person, who I always thought was thin, is actually bigger than I am. My NSV: I went to get a haircut at a new hairdresser last week. I told her I usually colored my hair, but I was giving it a rest because I had lost weight and my hair was fragile. She asked me why I lost weight, and I told her the band. She burst out, "You had surgery? But you're just a little bit of a thing!" Now there's a phrase I have NEVER heard applied to me before! that must have felt so good! I can always tell if I've lost or gained weight according to my mom. She's usually around the same weight. When I look at her and think she looks thin, then I've gained. If I look at her and think she's, hmm how do I put this, not as thin, then I know I've lost weight. TxArcher 2 Posted July 16, 2008 I went into a Good Will store yesterday on my lunch break. There on the shelves were some 38x32 Levi SilverTabs. My size 40x32's were a bit loose. I tried them on and they fit like a glove! SilverTabs run a bit big in their sizes, but... I wore them in High School and EARLY college. Once I got above a 40 waist, I couldn't find them in my size. These are my "Hands-Down" favorite jeans in the world because they are soooo roomy! I am wearing them NOW! It sure feels good to be wearing the same size jeans now, at 30 that I wore the day I graduated High School! Now if my GUT would just catch up with my waist! Sometimes the belly never really goes away. I am finding that out. For men, that's the area above the waist, for women the area below the waist. Some fat never goes away once we get it, no matter how much we lose. That's why so many people get tummy tucks and other PS. Oh well, we are still way better off than we used to be. Great succes for you!
wnt2lose 0 Posted July 21, 2008 I can finally buy off of clearance racks in the regular department! I was so excited the other day when I was at a store and I saw these really cute long shorts on the clearance rack. The size I ended up with were 13/14's and I don't even have a muffin top! I could've tried a smaller size but they didn't have any. Last summer I had to buy shorts before we went on vacation because nothing fit and they were 24's. Also last night I was at a party where a lot of teachers I work with were there. I haven't seen them since the end of May and they kept asking if I was a new teacher! They couldn't believe how much I've changed. It made me feel really good because I have been in a rut lately and feel like I am not making progress, but when people I haven't seen in a while notice it makes me keep going! TxArcher 2 Posted July 21, 2008 Just the other day, I was working on replacing electrical plugs and switches in my new house. I was on the floor working on a plug and my wife walks in and just stares at me... "What?" I said. "Look at you" she said. "Look at what?", "You--Your sitting cross-leged!" I had not even realized I was sitting that way. I just got tired of squatting and kneeling... Sure is nice seeing other things changing, even though the scale is being stubborn. The scale doesn't matter because the NSV's mean more. I am going to Patriots Training Camp on Monday. Can't wait...we make an afternoon of it and get to see our guys up close instead of just on the TV. Can't believe Football season is here already...woohoo! Can't wait! I had been on the 5 pound roller coaster for about a month. Down, up, down, up... UGGH! The scale has finally started to move down again and this morning it read 298! I have pretty much cut out ALL sweets that are not Protein loaded, i.e. my protein ricotta cheese desert I posted in the Nymph's recipe thread. I remember hitting a plateau about a month post-op. My clothes were still getting smaller but no weight change. Well this was just the PLATEAU FROM HELL! Maybe I am on my way back down now? Training camp... that is something I never did. Geez, I gotta figure out how I am going to watch my beloved Boyz this year. We try to go without TV as much as possible. I guess I will be sitting my patooty down at a sports bar somewhere. Good thing they don't play Carolina this year! I don't think I would be liked too much here.
Momto1plus1 0 Posted July 24, 2008 I went shopping today with Ian. He needed some school shoes. Once we found the shoes he was looking for I wondered into a women's shop. This particular shop has plus sized on one side and misses on the other. The sales woman looked at me and said, "Oh, this is the plus side, the misses sizes are on the other side." I looked at her and said, "Well, God bless you". She looked at me quizzically and said well don't you wear Misses, surely you're not in plus sized. I told her yes, but that this was the first time anyone other than me has noticed. LOL

Momto1plus1 0 Posted July 29, 2008 I had two NSV's last week. I told you about the first one in the dress shop already. My second NSV came when I used my checkcard for a purchase. The clerk at this store (Not the same one as above) asked for my driver's license. When I handed it to her, she looked at the picture and looked at me. Then kept looking back and forth. Finally, I asked if there was a problem. She said "This isn't you!! I assured her it was. I started pulling out other ID's. I told her she could ask my 9 year old who was there what my name was. LOL When I told her I had lost over 100 lbs since that picture was taken, she laughed and handed me my ID. She said they are told to keep the license if they don't think it is you, but that I needed to go get a new license. That girl mae my day. LOL
cindyg1212 0 Posted July 29, 2008 Better get a new license, Wendy, before you get arrested for identity theft!
